Our project for this financial year was to sail across the Atlantic with a crew of young novice sailors. The project was supported by several fundraising events, talks and social media campaigns. The project was mainly aimed at raising awareness of mental health and suicide prevention amongst the student community in England.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

It was a remarkably busy first year for our charity. We would like to share some of the achievements we are most proud of: 

- Hosted numerous talks on bereavement in the workplace 

- • Training sessions on awareness of suicide prevention • Grants to Papyrus and Child Bereavement UK in support of a suicide prevention helpline and bereavement services for families bereaved by suicide 

- • Huge social media following covering the crew in their first Atlantic crossing which helped to raise awareness amongst young people as well as parents 

- • Number of crew members taking an active roll as mental health advocate following their successful Atlantic crossing 

- • A few schools started fundraising to support our campaign, encouragement that our awareness message is landing with our young people

As explained on page 2, our project for this financial year was to sail across the Atlantic with a crew of young novice sailors. The £19,500 cost of chartering the vessel was paid by Max Zamudio, the Chair of the charity’s Trustees. The initial payment of £7,800 was treated as a donation; the balance of the charter cost, £11,700, was a loan to the charity of which £10,000 was repaid in June 2021; the balance remains outstanding.
