|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|We estimate our various activities, listed<br>below, have benefitted over 300 members<br>of the local and wider community by<br>carrying out the activities listed below: -<br>Undertaking general clearance and<br>maintenance of a North Somerset owned<br>park and gardens adjacent to our facility.<br>Without this ongoing work this park would<br>become overwhelmed by weeds and fallen<br>tree debris. This continued during<br>lockdown, when the park was very well<br>used for the permitted socially distanced<br>meeting outside and for exercising.<br>We repaired furniture and restored 5 large<br>outside patio benches for Clevedon<br>Community Centre a much-used<br>community hub.<br>We continued repairing and renovating<br>garden tools for members of the<br>community.<br>We were busy making more wooden toys<br>and a rocking horse and donating them to<br>a Springboard Opportunity Nursery for pre-<br>school children with behaviour problems<br>A team were disassembling used<br>prosthetic legs for shipment to 11 African<br>countries by the charity Legs4Africa. This<br>is an ongoing task.<br>We landscaped our area, built a ramp for<br>access to our workshop, improved and<br>enlarged a wooden decking area to enable<br>our members to meet socially and take<br>refreshments outside and created a small<br>boarder garden to grow herbs and plants.|

|Performance of fundraising<br>activities against objectives<br>set|Para 1.41|We greatly exceeded our fundraising<br>targets this year.<br>We obtained a £10k grant from Quartet, a<br>fundholding charity in Bristol, to be used to<br>improve our facility, to buy professional<br>tools and equipment, to install a access<br>ramp to enable those with mobility issues to<br>negotiate our sloping ground to use our<br>workshop and to purchase all the PPE and<br>cleaning materials to be able to declare our<br>premises Covid-19 Secure and then be<br>open between the pandemic lockdown<br>periods.<br>Each time we have set up a stall at local<br>fairs and markets we have exceeded our<br>objectives in terms of funds raised.|

|Other||Like all UK Men’s Shed we had to close<br>due to the Covid-19 Virus crisis during the<br>lockdown periods; however, I held Zoom<br>virtual coffee break meeting twice each<br>week, over 100 in total. Between our<br>trustees we rang our members weekly to<br>check they were OK ans were not in need<br>of anything.<br>We had a Caretaker open our building each<br>week to help air the building, carry out<br>building improvements and maintenance<br>and ensure all our tools and equipment<br>were maintained in good working order.<br>Our Shedders carried on with certain<br>Outreach projects in the Community and<br>many of them made things in their own<br>workshops and sheds to donate to other<br>charities, or for our charity to sell to raise<br>funds.<br>We the Trustees were active in planning to<br>reopen between Covid lockdowns following<br>all the laws, rules and guidelines, which we<br>successfully achieved being open<br>whenever we were permitted.|
