We have a constitution. Type of governing document (eg. trust deed, constitution) Managed by a committee of trustees who are appointed at the Annual How the charity is constituted General Meeting (AGM) of the charity. (eg. trust, association, company)

We based our selection of trustees on past experience of roles on other Trustee selection methods charities, the expert knowledge that they have brought to the organisation. (eg. appointed by, elected by)

## **Additional governance issues (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant, about:

We have a Policies & Procedures handbook

- policies and procedures adopted for the induction and training of trustees;

- the charity’s organisational structure and any wider network with which the charity works;

- relationship with any related parties;

- trustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them.

## **Section C Objectives and activities**

**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

• To support the community with direct help, we will help low income families by collecting and distributing living products which will help relieve austerity to families in Blaenau Gwent.

- Families will fill in a very short questionnaire, asking children's

- ages, what type of products are needed to support their families, or relieve the pressures of living in a deprived area. Examples are packages for birthdays, Christmas, essential clothes, food and toiletries.

• Chloe’s Community Cupboard will supply much needed social relief packages to the needy families and any members of the community that are financially struggling.

Our objectives and activities are: We continue to raise funds to keep the shop front in operation.

- We provide and donate essential items for families who are financially struggling or/and are in great need. These essential items are items such as clothes, bedding, toiletries, and toys at Christmas along with any item that would be of benefit.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

- The loan of our suits for job interviews, along with prom dresses. We understand suitable clothing for people unemployed can be difficult to obtain, therefore we loan out clothing that would aid someone going to a job interview. We loan out prom dresses so children can join in school activities regardless of financial burdens. We donate school uniform to struggling families who find the cost of clothing a burden. We collect uniforms suitable for all schools across Blaenau Gwent.

- We promote and donate educational items like books and school supplies at low or no cost to those in need of items.

- We are constantly working with, and supporting, other charities. This could be in the form of referrals by food banks from known families, or from the women’s refuge which urgently needs clothing.

## Section D

## Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main** The Covid pandemic bough many challenges to the Charity but the **achievements of the charity** commitment of the excellent volunteer staff and the support from the **during the year** local community has allowed to us to continue to achieve our goals and has allowed the charity to fulfil its intentions on many levels. We have received high volumes of donations this year but also a massive increase in demand for our services in the community. The ethos of the charity has continued to be important while our volunteers have helped families throughout the year. The charity has helped many families start again supporting families coming out of local refuges and homeless shelters to set up new homes providing them with furniture and household items to turn their new properties into homes. Demand from school supplies has continue to be high, as a result we have open a separate school uniform shop to allow us to help more families, as with all the help we provide there is no charge. Books and educational materials to further support the educational needs of children are advertised to take free of charge and we have established excellent working relationships with many local schools to provide them with items they need. The shop has a food tin collection point for tins and other non-perishable items that are then donated to local food banks, and we have also set up a pet supply collection point where items are donated to local animal rescue centers. As the Covid pandemic has continued Great care has been taken to make sure staff, volunteers and the public are kept safe when the shop is allowed to be open. Since the start of the pandemic multiple procedures have been implemented including: • A quarantine area for donations. • Directional signs and hand sanitizer are in place around the shop. • An instructional film was made which is on display for customers to help provide a high level of care to everyone. Since October, funding has allowed the addition of a Shop Manager and one part time member of staff which has benefited the Charity greatly, and has enabled the shop to run efficiently, and smoothly during this turbulent time.
