a. Objective

The object of the charity as set out in its governing document is ‘The promotion of civic responsibility and good citizenship among people in the county of Norfolk in particular, and the UK in general, by commissioning a memorial in Norfolk to the 97 British soldiers massacred at Le Paradis on 27 May 1940, to maintain said memorial and to support other memorials to the Le Paradis Massacre as deemed appropriate by the Trustees’.

In setting objectives and planning undertakings the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance published by the Charity Commission relating to public benefit, including the guidance ‘Public benefit: running a charity (PB2)’.

Le Paradis Memorial Appeal Trustee3' Rèport Icontinuedl For the perfad l January 2024 to 31 Oécembèr 2024 A¢hle¥ements and performan¢e For the fourw consecutive year the Trustees worked with the Cathedral to or8anise Service of Remembrance at the memorial on Monday 27th May, the 84th anniversary of the massacre. This was very well attended. The Trustees also focussed on raising sufricient funds to pay for the production and installation of the memorial in The National Memorial Arboretum INMAI. This was successful such that durin8 the year the Trustee5 formally commissioned Kindersley Workshop to purchase the stone and begin work on the memorial. The Trustees are working towards the installation of the stone in the NMA durin8 2025, and a Service of Dedication. Flnanclal Revlew Goln8 ¢on¢ern The Trustees have a good expectation that the Charity has adequate resources, supported by a well-developed fund-raisin8 campaign, to contlnue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For that reason they continue to adopt the 8oin8 concern basis in preparing the financial staiements. b. Reserv•s pollcy The charlty carries forward into 2025 sufficient reserves to cover all anticipated financial commitments. Workin8 Wlthin the guidelines established by the constitution, the Trustees will determine what use to make of these funds.
