Name** The registered name is _**Paradis Commemoration Group Memorial Appeal.**_ The working name _**Le Paradis Memorial Appeal**_ is also registered. ## **b. Constitution** The charity is registered with the Charity Commission as a Foundation Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) under a constitution, dated 12 August 2019, approved by the Charity Commission. ## **c. Method of appointment of Trustees** The management of the charity is the responsibility of the existing Trustees who appoint new Trustees as designated under the terms of the constitution. ## **d. Policies** The charity has approved the following policies: Complaints procedure Conflicts of interest GDPR Risk management Volunteers The charity also maintains a risk register. Objective** The object of the charity as set out in its governing document is ‘The promotion of civic responsibility and good citizenship among people in the county of Norfolk in particular, and the UK in general, by commissioning a memorial in Norfolk to the 97 British soldiers massacred at Le Paradis on 27 May 1940, to maintain said memorial and to support other memorials to the Le Paradis Massacre as deemed appropriate by the Trustees. In setting objectives and planning undertakings the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance published by the Charity Commission relating to public benefit, including the guidance ‘Public benefit: running a charity (PB2)’. ## **b. Strategies for achieving objectives** The principal objective, a permanent memorial to the memory of the victims of the massacre has been achieved in 2021. The Trustees have reviewed the work of the charity, leading to a focus on ‘ _to support other memorials to the Le Paradis Massacre as deemed appropriate by the Trustees_ ’. In addition, the following three strands continue to inform the work of the Trustees: - Supporting the annual Service of Remembrance on the 27[th] May in Norwich Cathedral - Ensuring that supporters and the general public are kept fully informed of the ongoing work of the charity - Ensuring that all administrative requirements are met. **5 |** P a g e Le Paradis Memorial Appeal Truslees. After considerable discussion and researth the Trustees deckled to apply to The Natlonal Memorial Arboretum INMAI to instal in their grounds a memorial to the memory of the 97 victims of the Le Paradis massacre. This application was approved by the Landsope and Memorials Committee at their meetin8 in December 2023. subject to resolution of minor amendments. Flnan¢lal Re¥lew •. For that reason they continue to adopt the 80in8 concem basis In preparing the financial statements. b. ReseNes pollcy The charity carries forward into 2024 suffi¢lent reserves to cover all anticipated financlal commitments. Working within the guidelines established by the constitution, the Trustees will determlne what use to make of these funds.
