Promoting competitive outdoor family recreation and a social environment.

Objectives and Activities

The Trustees are committed to enabling the club to provide a safe and friendly environment to as many community members as possible.

When planning activities for the further the trustees must consider the Commission guidance regarding the public benefit.

The trustees will ensure the bowling environment is maintained to a high standard.

Achievements and Performance

The trustees and the committee will provide internal competitions i.e. Ladies and Men’s singles, pairs, triples and fours. Plus Borough and County competitions. Also Social- inter - club Friendlies .

This past 15 months has been very challenging due to Covid 19. Competitions in accordance with Bowls England were cancelled. Bowling was restricted to only a few members on the green at any one time.

The club membership remained loyal, we all kept in touch and those who were in need we ensured they were provided for.

In 2019 we purchased our Bowling Green from Taylor Wimpy. The members donated the purchase costings. We also became a Charity Incorporated Organisation (CIO) ensuring our future.

Volunteers

We wish to thank all our volunteers for the endless work maintaining the Bowling Green and surrounds. We have landscaped two new flower beds that are giving much joy to all our members and passing neighbours.

Structure, Governance and Management:

The Trustees were elected by our members at our 2019 AGM. The Committee Officers are elected to serve for a three year term, ensuring a one year gap between each officer coming on and off the committee. The remaining committee are elected to serve one year. The officers and committee members can be reelected if they so wish to serve.

The Committee are responsible for making decisions regarding the safe and efficient running of the Club , including how funds are used to the benefit of the Club and the community .

The committee meets four times in the playing season and twice in the closed season.

The AGM takes place at the spring meeting at the beginning of the season. An Annual Dinner and prize giving is held in November.
