Achievements and Performance

SORP
reference
Summary of the main achievements
of the charity, identifying the
difference the charity’s work has
made to the circumstances of its
benefciaries and any wider benefts
to society as a whole.
Para 1.20 This year the Trustees/Volunteers have been
focused on maintaining the features; the Stumpery,
Sensory beds, walled Sedum border, Willow Arch
tunnel and The Prairie grass bed.
This involves the team weeding, trimming, barking
and planting where needed. Bark and plants are
provided by the Parish Council. We have noticed
an increase in wildlife activity since making annual
improvements. For example the Stumpery has
evidence of badgers foraging, their are frogs &
toads living under plants and logs. Slow worms are
breeding there and squirrels hiding hazel nuts
behind stumps and logs. The areas biodiversity is
clearly improving with more birds and insects than
before. The public stop and talk to us and thank us
for the work we are doing. many have said that
walking the area has had benefits to their well
being. Elderly it keeps them fit and its very social
place.
