|**Contribution made by**<br>**volunteers**|In 2023/24 12 active volunteers contributed approximately<br>875 volunteer hours.|
|**Achievement and**<br>**Performance**|The Board of Trustees had 11 meetings this year. We started<br>the year with 9 trustees – Diana James stepped down, and<br>Michael Avila was co-opted in May 2023, Danni Glover<br>stepped down in January 2024. We ended the year with 8<br>trustees.<br>Our total income was £26,859 of which £25,000 was funding<br>from MOPAC, £1206 was raised through donations (PayPal<br>Funding UK), £620 through fundraising (Rainbow Lottery and<br>Amazon Smile), £10 through the sale of merchandise, £23<br>through affiliations and 10p miscellaneous.<br>We marked the 24th anniversaries of the three nail bomb<br>attacks on Brixton, Brick Lane and Soho on the 17th,24th and<br>30th April 2023.<br>Our Rainbow Boroughs Project “Pride Marching Group” took<br>part in the Pride in London Parade carrying the “Admiral<br>Duncan Memorial Banner”. Approximately 16 people walked<br>with us this year.<br>£25,000 funding from MOPAC for National Hate Crime<br>Awareness Week 2023. £2,500 (10%) covered some of our<br>core costs, £1,600 (6%) was spent on the London launch<br>event, and £19,268.22 (77%) was spent on resource and<br>distribution. We had an underspend of £1,631.78 (7%)<br>restricted funds which we agreed with MOPAC would spend<br>on resources and distribution for National Hate Crime<br>Awareness Week 2024.<br>We delivered the 12th National Hate Crime Awareness Week<br>2023 between the 14th-21st October, working with CST to<br>raise awareness of Antisemitism.|

This included: 

- Updating the NationalHCAW website for 2023. 

- • NationalHCAW Google Map 2023. 

- • 14 newsletters. • H.O.P.E. Social Media Campaign and physical resources. 

We held our annual Act of Hope and Remembrance for those affected by Hate Crime on Sunday 15th October 2023, at Regents Hall, the Salvation Army Centre on Oxford Street. The national candle was lit by Dave Rich from CST in memory of those affected by Antisemitic hate crime. This was particularly poignant following the horrific attacks that took place in Israel on the 7th of October. Membership of our UK Hate Crime Network group on LinkedIn has risen to 482 members.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of 17-24-30 National Hate Crime Awareness Week (the Trust) for the year ended 31[st] March 2024. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of the report** 

As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
