Trustees Report for the Period Ending 5 April 2022
The Trustees are pleased to present their annual report together with the financial statements for the Laura Waddington Charitable Foundation for the period ending 5 April 2022
The Trustees confirm that the financial statements presented comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Companies Act 2006, the Memorandum and Articles of Association, and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015).
Objectives and Activities:
a. Objectives
Founded in 2019, the Foundation is a grant-making organisation that is funded by the goodwill of others, in addition to its own fundraising initiatives.
The Foundations objectives are to advance such charitable purposes (in accordance with the applicable laws of England and Wales), as the Trustees see fit from time to time.
b. Grant making policies
Under the terms of the Charity’s constitution, the Trustees will apply the Charity’s funds at their discretion to further the Charity’s objective described above.
In awarding grants the Trustees will apply the following principles:

Applications from any geographical area within the UK are eligible for consideration, but priority will be given to those which meet the current priorities set by the Trustees.

All applications from previous recipients of grants or from previously unsuccessful applicants will be considered by the Trustees on their own merits. Although the Trustees will have regard to the outcome of previous grants, any new application will in no way receive preferential or adverse consideration.

The Charity will willingly work in partnership with other organisations to fund initiatives beyond the financial scope of a single organisation.
Achievements and Performance:
The Foundation has yet to generate or award any funds at this time

Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Report and the financial statements In accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period.
In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to:

select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

observe the methods and principles in the Charities SQRP;

make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for' taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
