Today I am stepping down from being club treasurer and Trustee. After being a member of the club since it began 51 years ago, working through the many Junior and Senior awards, which have changed so many times over the years. Taking part in river, lake and land-based patrols, taking part in the pool, lake and sea competitions, all of which have changed many times. Winning many Bronze, Silver and gold medals, making many friends from many different clubs and having lots of laughs along the way. Camping at the many outdoor competitions. Lifesaving has played a huge part in my life. It also helped me to achieve my job at Worcester Hospital with the Resuscitation team.
This year has been a particularly hard year for me and my family, and I now feel that after being the club Treasurer volunteering for 16+ years it is time for a break and to pass it all over to someone new.
I just want to thank everyone for all the amazing memories and wish everyone all the best for the future.

Secretary’s report 2025
2025 has been another busy year for our club.
Members in our club are 94.
We still do not have membership forms for many of the club members especially those who joined this year. We also do not have any information with regard to the Flood/Patrol team members.
If you no of anyone not receiving the club emails, can you ask them to pass their details to Mona on the front desk so you can be added to the distribution list.
Afte 8 years volunteering as Club Secretary the time has come for me to step down.
I have been with the club from the moment I was born following my Mum and Grandma around. To joining and taking the many awards, teaching, being Junior Organiser to the many patrols and competitions.
I will be sad to leave but I don’t have the time to be able to give this position anymore.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me during the time in the Club, but a massive shout out to Adrian and Teresa who have been by my side all the way through my lifesaving journey. I couldn’t have done it all without them and my family.
Sarah
Junior Organizer
This year we have continued to roll out the new NLA awards which is now taught on a 2-term basis. With this new introduction the teaching structure of all the sessions, including Rookie has been amended to try and be more varied, which has received positive feedback to date.
As you have probably noticed I am now on the desk and active on Poolside in the third session only. I am able to do this with the support of Tracy, Teresa and all the teachers and helpers. I cannot stress the importance of the teachers and helpers; without their time and effort no sessions could take place.
This year our new teachers have been very active and have been joined by 5 new helpers, some of whom will complete their teacher training in the new year. This is very welcome and will secure our future teaching ability. This year we have also welcomed three new classes in session one and 2 new members in session two and I hope they continue to enjoy their sessions.
Many thanks to all the teachers and helpers and I hope all the junior members have enjoyed their lessons and will continue to join us each Sunday. Also a special mention to all parents who bring their children each week; your efforts are appreciated.
Patrol and Flood Team
The flood team have been actively engaged in building a more robust team structure to support our goals of saving lives and supporting the wider community during major flood events. This has required a concerted effort, not only attract new team members, but to ensure that existing team members are able to respond to Incidents as they occur.
The team remains on the DEFRA National Asset Register (NAR) as a Type B asset (powered rescue boat), capable of responding to major flood across England and Wales
Fund raising and training have also played a major part of this year’s activity.
We recognise that there is still much work to be done and to that end will be undertaking a SWOT analysis to establish not only he teams strategic direction but also any protentional risks that would prevent the team operating at the desired level.
Training has centred on familiarising new team members with equipment currently available to us and to gain some of the qualifications they will require to allow them to be deployed, this includes:
-
Inshore safety boat Crew
-
Inshore safety boat operator
-
First responder (Medical)
-
Water rescue technician
These skills will be maintained with regular continuous professional development sessions throughout the coming year.
The next phase of training will focus on developing further boat operating skills in hi flow conditions at a training venue in north Wales, giving them flood rescue boat operator status.
