The Language Policy Index for Migranls {LAPIMI measures Ihe lingUlSticr8quirements in integration
and ¢ilizenship policy as well as leaming opporbjnities formigrants acjoss Europe.11 is the first index
of ils kind lo be dfy54gned specificalty forlhis purpose. Itwas designed wthin the IMPECT Research
Project at the We51ern Norway Univers,ty ol Appfied Saences wrth the purpose of rnnking Countries
according lo their relative strictness in language ￿licY. LAPIN has been piloted in 6 European
countries and data have been collected from 20 countries lo date. The index dewbes both eXpl￿1t
