OUR WORK FOR THE I¥EXT 12 MONTHS
Our Chair of TrLL8tee& Lea Milliwdn, died suddetdy in April 2024. Lea Collective Voi¢e's first indepeThJ¢nt Chair.
Elis leadership and support to Colle¢tiv¢ Voice and th¢ sUb￿a￿te misuse treatment and recov¢ry field will be greatly
missed. His drtve and posilivtiy hav¢ left a lasting impact on Collective Voice whiGh the board and ieam are hugtrly
thankful for and will contitwe to build UP0￿ In th¢ same montK gur chief executive officer left the or8anization.
At the time of writing this repor¢ a new Executive Dircctor has srarted and Clare Ashton has taken on the role of Interim
Chair pendillg th¢ re¢ruitment atKI appoinlmcnt of a n¢w independent ¢h&ir. Key tasks I￿[ude establishing positive
r¢lation5hips with the new Govemment following the General Election, and refreshing the organisation's strategy. as
202¥25 is the final year of the current three-year strntegy.
The shape OF this work was largely outlit)ed in last y¢aes report which noted the need to develcy an influencin8 plan
that will aim to broaden alld strengthen relationships with decision n]akos and our ertgagement across the field. in order
to rnsur¢ our influthcing is evidence-bas¢d. This Mryll b¢ focused on a nuTnber of key policy objectives including
sustaining the drug sirategy Énvestm¢nt. influencinb the next C.omprehensiv¢ Spending Review. inflUe￿Ing fu￿re

We will continue vur work to add fresh skills, knowled8c, and expertise to our governance. We Hill review our

History
Coll¢¢tive Voice was founded in 2015 by trcatn*nt and recovery charities in England with a shared purpose to advocate
ttir trtratrneni and recovery at a time of ausÈerity and a lack of pollu￿1 leadership.
In its first ¢hapter as an uncon8tituted parther5hip we focused on a small set of pnorities, guided by senior Itaders of the
founding or8anisation
In its second, Collective Voice bEcame Lonstitutrd as a charity and those leaders were appointed as Trustee& In 2021, an
IndependeTrt Chair was appointed.
Now in our third chapl¢r. our fOl￿ding organisations act ￿ sponsors for us and we haytt appointed addilional
independent trustees. We c4)nttDue to provide a voice for the field. to utilise its knowledge and expertise to critique and
champion the and alcohol tr￿tfftetbt and recovery system. and to support leaming and collaboration acro&% il.
