The objects of the CIO are:
“To further or benefit the residents of Longford and the surrounding area of Orford, without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions by associating together the said residents and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents.”
The CIO is based in an area of deprivation in Warrington and operates a community centre, running activities and events aimed to improve the mental and physical well-being of people in the area and build cohesion in our community.
The Trustees confirm that they have had regard to the Charity Commission Guidance on public benefit in directing the work of the charity.
Achievements and performance
The CIO was established in 2019 with the intention of transferring the assets and operations of an existing unincorporated association to the CIO. Due to delays in opening bank accounts this has not yet taken place. Accordingly, the CIO has undertaken any activities and so as no achievements or performances to report. Financial review
The CIO has had no income nor incurred any expenditure in the reporting year because all operations remain with the existing charity Longford Neighbourhood Services Centre (charity number: 1088840).
