## **Description of the charity’s trusts** 

UKSA’s governing document is the foundation constitution of a charitable Type of governing document incorporated organisation (CIO), whose only voting members are charity (eg. trust deed, constitution) trustees. UKSA also ensures that trustees sign a Trustee Code of Conduct upon induction. UKSA is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) How the charity is constituted (eg. trust, association, company) UKSA advertises for potential charity trustees in its newsletters, on its Trustee selection methods website as well as various online recruitment platforms. At least 2 trustee (eg. appointed by, elected by) members are present during an interview process. 2 named trustees are entitled to appoint one or more trustees. **Additional governance issues (Optional information)**

UKSA employs a comprehensive vetting, induction and training procedure for all newly appointed trustees. We have a ‘Safer Recruitment Policy’ which is reviewed annually and sets out procedures for:

3. Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks 4. Section 128 Prohibition checks 

5. Disqualification check Documents which potential trustees are required to read and sign include:

   4. The charities governing constitution

UKSA organisational structure is as follows:

The charity works with the local authority to access staff CPD opportunities as well as the Equalities and Inclusion team at Hounslow Council. The charity works with the local Councillor and local schools to promote community cohesion. The charity takes part in initiatives to promote healthy living such as the TFL Stars Travel campaign.

|**Summary of the main**<br>**achievements of the charity**<br>**during the year**|The charity's full time school, Unique Academy, opened on 21st April<br>2021 and has provided holistic education to over 70 pupils since opening.<br>The charity's supplementary school, UMTA, has provided educational<br>support services for over 200 pupils since its inception in March 2018.<br>The children who access the charity's services are supported<br>academically, spiritually and mentally to become well rounded, global<br>citizens who will make a positive contribution to their communities and<br>society. The charity operates to ensure the highest of educational<br>standards and this was recognised through its Ofsted inspection in May<br>2022, where Unique Academy was rated as ‘Good’ in regard to its quality<br>of education, pupil behaviour, pupil outcomes, early years provision and<br>leadership and management.|
