Cylch Meithin Penysarn is a registered charity that takes place in a cabin on the Primary school’s yard, Ysgol Gynradd Penysarn. There are two members of staff that work 9am until 11:30 Monday to Thursday. We have registered through Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin Mon and also Care Inspectorate Wales. The children are two and a half years old up until they’re three, they will then move to primary school in September. The Cylch follow Early Years Curriculum through the medium of Welsh in order to develop their skills and prepare for their educational years and multi-cultural community in Key Stage 1 and 2.
An annual Hollween disco is organised in order to raise money for the Cylch and this year a summer disco was organised. The Cylch annually receives donations from the parents in order to make a Christmas hamper and raise additional funds. These funds go towards resources for the children such as outdoor learning. Members of staff actively participate in courses such as food hygiene, paediatric first aid and child protection. All members of staff have a current DBS.
