Blaina Town Band, Registered Charity 1184717 – Trustees Annual Report 1[st] Apr 2024 31[st] Mar 2025.
Throughout the past year the Band has maintained a steady membership as we continue to attract more players from the surrounding towns and villages. Again both Senior and Learner’s band rehearsals have benefitted from the continued support and leadership of their respective conductors Colin Jones and Russel Morris. Both Senior and Learner’s sections continue to rehearse every Friday and Tuesday respectively.
With the ongoing assistance of members from neighbouring bands we again fulfilled several engagements in and around the town and these were well supported by the local public.
Players from other bands still join us for senior band rehearsals and concerts and their ongoing support is invaluable in securing the future of the band, a really big “Thank You” goes out to all.
The Band’s funding dropped this year owing to some unforeseen illnesses, severe weather and not being able to secure any substantial grants from local

businesses or the local Council owing to the financial climate whereas all businesses and indeed local councils are struggling to meet their demands.
I would like to conclude by paying special thanks to John Prosser who has worked tirelessly to repair and improve the garden and surrounding areas of the Band Hall and indeed all members of Blaina Town Band who strive so hard to keep the day to day things running so smoothly and to secure the future for the youth in our band.
