Blaina Town Band, Registered Charity 1184717 st st – Trustees Annual Report 1 Apr 2023 31 Mar 2024.
During the past year the Band has grown in membership as we continue to attract more players from the surrounding towns and villages. Both senior and learner’s band rehearsals have benefitted from the continued support and leadership of their respective conductors Colin Jones and Russel Morris and a special thanks to John Prosser for his musical talent in rearranging sheet music to suit the band. Both sections continue to rehearse every Friday and Tuesday.
The band again fulfilled several engagements in and around the town and these were well supported by the local public.
Players from other bands still join us for senior band rehearsals and concerts and their ongoing support is invaluable in securing the future of the band, a really big “Thank You” goes out to all. It is nevertheless with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of one of our trustees and players, Ronald Powell. Ron had been a member of

the band since the late 1960’s and will be sorely missed.
I would like to conclude by paying tribute to all members of Blaina Town Band who strive so hard to keep the day to day things running so smoothly and to secure the future for the youth in our band.
