We have also continued to grow the database whlch has prompted us to make significant changes to the responslbilities of support unit staff. We have installed a Rin8 doorbell, which Is Ilnked to the S.U office tablet so staff can safely see who is at the door. We have Increased the care we provlde to cllents as well as vastly improvin8 tF* communication and recordin8 of important infomation. This 15 on80ing. We have new staff members working at the S.U We have set up a desk In the Support Unit office along with a new wall-mounted safe. A stable door has been installed in the office. allowing us to keep residents out of the offlce whllst stlll providing all the relevant services- Medication has been better or8anised uslng meds boxes and using the stable door as a monitorirvd station. Streamlined all papenvork- reduced to one paper book and 3 checklists. Ongoin8. Increased monltoring of keys to avoid loss. Ongoing Handover checklist. whlch has In¢￿aSed cleanliness and ensured all residents are checked on before and after each shift. Ongoing Tablet available in the Offi￿ to enter information into the datsbase. Ongoing Better monitoring of breathalysers and meds collections for both in-house residents and residents from the flats. New top of the range breathatyser has been bou8hL due to us having to buy cheap ones every couple of months. Recently had all windows replaced with double glazing. Finances Accounts for the year ending Mar 2022 are attached. In addition- so far thls year we have received a furttrer E16,505 from the Triangle Trust grant, bringing the total received so far to £54,114 with a further £4880 still to come. This wa5 a 3yr 8rant to help with Volunteer co-ordinators and we are now in the final year. We have received £14.OLYI from Alpha House Caklerdale- for our services. thls includes all Assessment5, Drug Te5tin8, and certain group co-ordinator facilitation. along with Support costs incurred for the support of residents. Providing these service5 to Alpha House Is enabling us to become self-sufficient. The remalnder of the Allan Lane grant for the development of Kings Court gardens, has been spent on the project, although the maintenance of the gardens is on80ing. We Currently have a fundin￿grant bid In with Awards for All. A replacement Minibus was purchased in March 2022 with the help of a donatlon from Alpha House. After a challenging start- the Minibus is now in use taklng clientslresidents to meetin8$ where possible. Staff and Volunteers Along wlth a signlficant increase to our staff and volunteers. we have also made great progress in volunteer trainin8. This includes Support Unit meeting5. written Instructlon booklets and increased recordin8 of information. Staff lan Collinson remains as the Project Manager Mark (Ymelia has been put on pemitted work. Dave Saltonstall has been commissioned as a consultant from AH. which we pay AH directly for. As we employ ex-addicts unfortunately, we have lost 2 workers Darren Clarke and Matt Rourke due to their addictlons. but we have gained 2 more workers Mark and Paul. Volunteers Monique Evans- Recovery Support. New Ben Gilchrist- Support Unit. has now left. Gained employment èt the Basement Project. Marcus Christie- Support Unit. has now left. All three Helen, Janet. and Lyndsey worked over their allocated placement hours as they loved working here and didn't want to leave. Future The vlsion we have for the future of SWAP is, as we grow we have had a good success of our volunteers In the past movin8 on to full time employment. This had generated us as an organisation to want and need more volunteers, some of which is a few of our clients that have come through the AH program and have started to volunteerand some that have not come throu8h the Ah program. We will be implementing MO￿ tralnlng around 8roup facilitation, drug testing, database inputting and key working, glving them the skills, which will help for the future when they 8ain employment whether It be with SWAP or an extemal Servi￿ provider. So for the last 2 years we have been worklng WTrth a r￿W database system (although not so new nowl and it just 8et5 better and better as we work with it. this is due to identifyin8 new amends that we keep adding to it. For the near future we have al￿adY got in place some new features for the database, which are bein8 able to input Criminal Jvstice Statistrfs and havin8 some al8orithm5 to produ¢e figures of the percentage of how much crime has been reduced by hou5in8 some of our most prolific offenders. Another beneficial tool is we a￿ adding a Mental Health star section to be edlted and to be looked back on from week to week in the clients one to ones. this will show either, improvement or a deterioration in the individuals over mental health. Shane and l over the next coming weeks are goin8 to start getting up to date with the SeNice Charge and Loans sections of inputting, then once this is up to date allowin8 the keyworkers to manage and prompt the client as of when to pay, lultimately the client will still be coming to pay Shanel. This is to centralise all information and easier to attess. As the datsbase continues to grow. I have noticed little tweaks that we have been getting amended, such as back buttons and drop4own l)ox information. which m05t of the time I can amend myself. We are looking at increasing funding avenues. applying for grants ect, whilst looking at ways of making us self-sustainable.
