The Band also has several First Aiders and a Welfare Officer. f 2 ij; Objectives and Activities t;:. Tewit Silver Band was founded in November 2017. The constitution was created in 2018 and adopted as the goveming document for the Band. The Band was entered on the Register of Charities on 30,- July 2019 as an unincorporated association. The objectives of the band are to advance the participation, education, and appreciation of the general public of all ages in the science of brass band music in Tewit and the surrounding area through the provision of rehearsal facilities, instrument hire and tuition and by participation in concerts and contests.
1kWlf Significant Activities The Band has continued to deliver its charitable objectives, staging perforManS at Wetherby Bandstand, Silsden Proms, Durham Miners Gala, Starbeck Church and Stockeld Park, along with competing at Area and National levels. The band also gets invited every 2 years to represent Harrogate at the Luchon fetes des fleurs. Public Benefit The Band has continued with its aims of: Promotion and education of the musical and cultural heritage of brass band music Providing an opportunity for the development of all members as musicians and performers and provision of accompanying wellbeing merits Providing musical entertainment to the wider community Representing the Brass Band movement and local community at a National and Intemational level The band has welcomed several new members this year, typically providing a progression route for younger players. The Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance on public benefit contained in documents provided by the Charity Commission and have taken these into account when reviewing the aims and objectives of the charity. It is the opinion of the trustees that both the "Public" and "Benefit" aspects have been satisfied without bias, discrimination, detriment, or ham and without personal benefit. Achievements and Performance, The band has a full membership. As is usually the case, several members left the band to begin their university education, but replacements were immediately engaged as the band has developed an excellent reputation, both in terms of musical performan and as a socially welcoming group. The band has also attracted and welcomed new members from further afield, having progressed rapidly from the 4 Section to the Championship Section. The Band has participated in multiple contests, including the Scottish Open, the Regional Finals, Rochdale, LeIstershire and Constest along with various marching contests. The mentoring of younger players by older, more eXperIend players continues to'pay dividends and should be acknowledged as playing a part in this exceptional success rate, alongside the dedication, musical excellence and outstanding leadership provided by the Musical Director. Several members of the Band also assist the youth and Community bands with their rehearsals on a voluntary basis, further supporting the progression route and development for young players.
Financial Review Financial Position This year's income has included a significant private donation, with income streams also being derived from a number of perforManS and contest winnings. The operating expenses have also increased proportionally, with noted increases in transport costs and competition fees. The band continues to benefit from being registered for Gift Aid. Principal Funding Sources The principal sources of funding were from donations, subscriptions, concerts and prize winnings. Funds in Deficit There were no funds in deficit at the financial year end st The cash reserves (cash at bank) as of 31 October 2025 were £68,844 The trustees have no cOnmS or UnrtaIntieS about the future of the charity. Risk Management The trustees have considered the major risks faced by the charity. The most significant financial risk would be loss of / damage to instruments. The band continues to implement an insurance policy for this eventuality. Operationally, there appears to be minimal risk in terms of support from playing members and the band continues to receive new members.

Future Plans The Trustee's main considerations are to continue to build on the strength and success achieved already, through implementation of the principal objectives and activities detailed above. The Band hopes to see further contesting wins and look forward to performing at the National Championships. Continuing with a full programme of public engagements and perfomanS will also be a key element, including the association with Luchon fete des fleurs. Exemptions from disclosure None.
