AGM is held annually and our last one was done through zoom due to Covid 19 restrictions on 25/02/2021. Trustees complete DBS checks in line with the guidelines set out from Ofsted and statutory guidance. Our trustees do not receive no payments for their time. Our Trustees aim to meet 6 times a year, twice each term. Several of our members hold relevant safeguarding qualifications and training and first aid. Charity Aims; We are a small village playgroup, who run from a room at a local primary school since 2010. We are a not-for-profit organisation. We offer early years provision - in and around the local surroundings, for all children aged 2 4.5 years old, of any culture and ability. Our setting is focused on learning through play and we offer children the opportunity to flourish in a secure and happy environment. We value all children as individuals and celebrate Britain’s diversity of culture. We have policies and procedures as set by statutory guidance and staff attend training through the year to improve their knowledge and keep update with legislation. We employ a manager, two deputies and 2 play practitioners, they plan activities within the Early Years Foundation Stage, and activities based on children’s interests. Staff are key persons to a group of children and will ensure that their children are learning and are happy and secure making friendships, and learning skills ready for their next transition. Each year we send out parent questionnaires, this is parents’ chance to let us know what they think and suggestions on our provision. We work closely with local primary schools, which enables our children to be confident and well settled as they move on from our setting. Review of the Year; This last year has been very difficult for us ass a setting, due to Covid 19, which lead to our setting having to close from March 2020- Sept 2020. We kept in touch via Tapestry and planned activities for children and sent out gifts and craft activities throughout that period of closure. Staff read stories to children on line and video called families to keep in touch. Staff were paid full rates during this time. Our income is made up from Early Education Funding from the local council, for 2,3 & 4 years old. We also have some children who claim Think 2 funding which allows children from disadvantaged households access to a fully funded place along with Early Years Pupil premium (EYPP). Other monies have been from paid fees from children who do not qualify for funding and additional charges set out as part of fees, which pays towards snack and resources. Numbers of children attending has been good this year, with most sessions being taken up on a full time basis. We have currently 30 children on the books all of which are from the local and surrounding villages. Manager and deputy carries out staff supervision meeting each half term and then manager carried out deputy supervision. Trustees and manager have updated polices and these are reviewed annually or when new legislation is brought in. Fundraising during the pandemic was difficult and we had to cancel our usual events due to restrictions. We did manage our Christmas Bonanza, Halloween treat hunt, which are our main fundraising events of the year. We also received a grant from local parish council which enables us to purchase all weather suits for our pre-schoolers.
