Summary
ofthe main
achievements
ofthe charity
during the year
NHS Hospital Bereavement
Units
In CY21 we were able to increase the number
of NHS hospital
bereavement
units we are supporting
from 10to 13,we have plans to
increase this further
during 2022.
We know from the feedback we get from the specialist bereavement
Midwives
who work on the units and the heartfelt messages
we
get from
families, that the donations
and support we are providing
to families is
valuable
and helping to make a difference.
We donated:
Cuddle Blankets, Care Packages,
HITH Keyrings,
Cuddle
Cots, Reading books for siblings,
Clothing etc
Charity Hosted Fundraising
Events
Unfortunately,
due to COVID, we were unable to host any fundraising
events
in CY21, which has limited our ability to raise funds and
awareness.
However,
we are planning
on hosting some in CY22.
Donations
We received a substantial
amount ofdonations
during CY21.The biggest
single income, coming from the 2021 London Marathon.
Personal Support
Due to COVID, we were unable to host our monthly face to face support
groups
but continued
to provided
support
via our website and social
media platforms.
The support we provide
is more emotional
support
and provides
people
with an opportunity
to speak to someone who has first-hand
experience
of baby loss.
Wave ofLight Service
In 2021 we were able to hold our 'Wave of Light Service' at our local
Parish Church,
which was very well attended
and appreciated.
The Wave of Light is an opportunity
tojoin with other bereaved
parents,
families, friends,
and people around the globe to light a candle and come
to remember
all babies and children
who have sadly died.
Christmas
Crafts Day For Siblings
In Dec-21 we held our 1"Christmas
Crafts Day, where bereaved
siblings
were able to come and make special decorations
in memory oftheir
brother or sister that they could take home for their Christmas
Tree.
The feedback from those who attended
was extremely
positive,
we have
already booked to hold this again
in Dec-22.
