S. Baptlst Union Pension deficit
Thè Baptist Union announced that they have s'gned an agreement with the insurance
company Just Group I'JUSYI to securé DB Plan members, pension benefits. This
agr88m8nt is reférred to as a 'buy-In policy,. It follows a similar agreement with Just in 2019
that covered most pensions in payment at that time The combined agreements mean that
Just are now providing finanaal backing for all DB pensions provided through the Scheme's
DB Plan. The costs of such policies are largely driven by finanaal markets and these have
moved substantially in the Scheme's favour, particxjlariy over the course of the last few
months. As a result, this transath'on t8kes the Scheme out of a shortfall position for the first
time in two decades. Although risks remain, the Baptist Union and the Trustee have agre8d
that defiat recovery contributions from each participating employer in the D8 Plan will
reduce to just £1 per month from August 2022.
6. The Church buildings In The Campst)oume ￿rnp￿Se the buildings at 1-3 The
Campsboume, induding Flats 1 and 3 on the top floor, and the adjoining Church Hall. They
and the Manse are shown at their most Trcent Independent valuation for Insurance
purposes. The truslees have used insurance values as the trustees are unable to reliably
estimate current values. Insuran￿ values may dtffer maten811y from current values.

Basls of examlnefs statement
My examination includes a reviwN of the accounting records kept by the church and
comparison of the accounts prepared wrth those rect)rds. The documents examined
indude invoices, payment vouchers, direct transacbons through bank account and finance
related note8 and correspondences. The pr0¢8dures undertaken do not provide all the
evidence that would be required in an audrt and consequently no opinion is given as to
whetherthe ac£ounts present a'true and fairvthv arKI the report is limited to those matters
set out in the ststernent below.
Independent examlnef8 ststement
The trustees have wep8red recwpts and payments accounts and all the transactions
induded in the accounts have gone thr￿gh and are reconciled to the church bank
accounts.
In connectson my ex8minth"on. no material matters cnme to my attention which
