Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
To advance Sunni Islam in the Derbyshire area for local Muslims by providing high quality, contextualized, Islamic education, spiritual support, and promoting civic duty.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
We provide high quality religious education for Muslim children and adults in Derby. We have used internal and external teachers for these courses. We use a local school's classrooms and lecture theatre to deliver these courses. These courses have been at cost price or, on occasion, for free.
During the Covid-19 pandemic we have invested in restructuring our courses for online delivery and continued to provide education and support to the children and families we work with.

Volunteers have helped with setting up teaching material for online delivery and developing ways to keep the classes engaging for students who may already be fatigued with online learning.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Our main achievement this year has been to continue deliver our classes online in a way that engages the students. Whist adding to courses that we offer.
We started Quranic Arabic Language in small groups to in November 2020. We have also started Quranic Arabic Recitation lessons in March 2021.

We have a no reserves policy because liabilities are attributable to courses that run and we ensure sufficient income is generated to cover our liabilities. We will reassess our reserves policy next year as we continue to grow and potentially hold reserves necessary for future plans.
