To advance the musical education of the public and in particular those who are members of marching bands by: a) helping to train in marching and the playing of marching band instruments; and b) holding concerts and exhibitions to promote high standards of musical ability. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 5 ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grantmaking; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. ## **Section D Achievements and performance** **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** Our biggest achievement this season was the success of our main event championships held at Newton Aycliffe over August Bank Holiday which saw our bands from the North-East, Midlands and Wales attend. We have also had a successful holiday weekend for the organisation which is becoming a bigger event each year.
