## **Achievements and Performance**

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|Over the financial year Cylch Meithrin<br>Amlwch has supported 23 children aged 2<br>or 3 to learn through play and be<br>surrounded by the Welsh language whilst<br>doing so. This has been challenging due to<br>the long period of closure. The children<br>who joined us last financial year in<br>September of 2019 missed their last 4<br>months with us.<br>They 23 children who joined us September<br>2020 had interrupted access to the Cylch<br>due to the national lockdown.<br>Through applications to funding<br>opportunities the Cylch has been able to<br>provide new resources for the children to<br>support their development, including new<br>outdoor toys promoting the use of this area<br>with the transmission of the virus being<br>reduced outside. Individual art items have<br>been purchased so children do not share<br>as many resources to decrease<br>transmission and a new cupboard was<br>purchased to make art and craft materials<br>more accessible.New craft materials were<br>also purchased to enable staff to create a<br>variety of artwork in order to teach a variety<br>of subjects and topics.<br>Children have developed their Welsh<br>language skills, grown in confidence and|

also gained skills. The focus this financial year has been to promote social skills, alongside learning as so many of the children found it difficult to transition from spending so long at home within their family bubble to coming to Cylch independently.

## **Financial Review** 

|Review of the charity’s<br>financial position at the end<br>of the period|Para 1.21|At year end the Cylch made a loss of<br>£2000, which considering the pandemic<br>was not as bad as it could have been.<br>However account balance stood at £6700<br>so a much healthier end to the year<br>compared to the previous financial year.<br>It is hoped that we will be able to<br>recommence fundraising events in the next<br>financial year though covid may still affect<br>this.|

Also the<br>impact of lockdowns mean many local<br>companies are struggling and unable to<br>give donations, similarly with sponsored<br>events it can be a lot of pressure on<br>families especially when we live in a<br>deprived area.|

Auditors Report: 

Our previous auditor was a local qualified accountant who then became a member of staff so the committee realised this was a conflict of interest with this person auditing the accounts. 

Unfortunately the accountancy firm used to process payroll were unable to take on this task, and it was overlooked by the committee. 

We are now endeavouring to source an auditor to look over the accounts for the financial year of 2020-21 and 2021-22 and will submit a report as soon as this has been completed.
