Amlwch has supported 23 children aged 2
or 3 to learn through play and be
surrounded by the Welsh language whilst
doing so. This has been challenging due to
the long period of closure. The children
who joined us last financial year in
September of 2019 missed their last 4
months with us.
They 23 children who joined us September
2020 had interrupted access to the Cylch
due to the national lockdown.
Through applications to funding
opportunities the Cylch has been able to
provide new resources for the children to
support their development, including new
outdoor toys promoting the use of this area
with the transmission of the virus being
reduced outside. Individual art items have
been purchased so children do not share
as many resources to decrease
transmission and a new cupboard was
purchased to make art and craft materials
more accessible.New craft materials were
also purchased to enable staff to create a
variety of artwork in order to teach a variety
of subjects and topics.
Children have developed their Welsh

£2000, which considering the pandemic
was not as bad as it could have been.
However account balance stood at £6700
so a much healthier end to the year
compared to the previous financial year.
It is hoped that we will be able to
recommence fundraising events in the next
financial year though covid may still affect

Without the Government furlough scheme
Cylch Meithrin Amlwch would have
collapsed financially. Moving forwards
fundraising is a high concern as our usual
events such as bingo nights aren’t possible
to hold in a safe manner currently. Also the
impact of lockdowns mean many local
companies are struggling and unable to
give donations, similarly with sponsored
events it can be a lot of pressure on
families especially when we live in a

Unfortunately the accountancy firm used to process payroll were unable to take on this task, and it was overlooked by the committee. We are now endeavouring to source an auditor to look over the accounts for the financial year of 2020-21 and 2021-22 and will submit a report as soon as this has been completed.
