We continue to represent our membership and their concerns regarding Village infrastructure, planning decisions, interaction with the local council and projects of benefit to the community.

We both run, administer and maintain the Village Hall for which we hold a 64 year lease (Until 2084)

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

We undertook responsibility for running the Hall from the Parish Room Charity in 2020 when the two charities were merged with the agreement of the Charity Commission.

In 2020 The Parish Room Charity ceased to exist The Titchfield Village Trust, with both charities unanimous consent, took over their assets.

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

During the Covid Pandemic we were forced to close the Village Hall for long periods.

After lockdown restrictions were lifted in 2021 things have returned to something like normal, and both hirings and income have returned to pre lockdown levels.

Lockdown did nor prevent us from representing the village in other aspects of our work, although General Meetings had to be put on hold.

Section D                      Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

During 2020/2021 we have undertaken a major fund-raising drive to firstly repair the 125 year old roof and outside drainage problems.

Our aim was to raise £100,000 in order to complete this work. We have so far managed to raise 90% of that total and will begin work sometime during the spring 2022.

After this is complete and the hall is in a more secure and safe position, we will continue to fundraise in order to undertake further repair and restoration to keep the hall at the very centre of our community.

**Section E                    Financial review**

**Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves**

In order to secure the continued running of the Parish room we keep £1,500 in reserve.

As we do not employ people directly this sum would still cover hall costs for at least 12 months.

**Details of any funds materially in deficit**

## **Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

Prior to us taking over the running of the Village Hall our income came from membership fees and grants.

We now have income from the hiring of the Hall, but at the same time we also have to keep paying running costs.

We have recently implemented new hiring charges which while they remain below market levels still provide us with an income to spend on maintenance.

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.
