Background
London Kachin Baptist Church (LKBC) was formed by Kachins, who came from Myanmar. It is known as LKBC. It registered as a charity organisation in England and Wales on 22[nd] July 2019. The registered charity number is 1148530. There are around 70 members in London Kachin Baptist Church. Trustees and Executive Committee members are appointed by Annual General Meeting (AGM) for two year term and they present their report of the Church for the period 1[st] October 2022 to 30[th] September 2023.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public according to the principles of the Baptist denomination.

I. Religious activities
LKBC held the following religious activities;

1. Regular Sunday mass worship service
As a Christian Church, believers gather and worship together at the church every Sunday. The Sunday mass worship service is held on every Sunday between 11 am to 12:30 pm. Around 50 church members attend regularly. Every Sunday church members gather together at Gospel Hall, Harmon road, UB2 4EH and some members participate via zoom meeting service.

2. The Communion of the Lord’s Supper Service
The Communion of the Lord’s Supper is one of the most important rituals of Christians. It was held at the church on the first Sunday of every month.

Christmas worship service is celebrated every year on the 25[th] of December.

4. Prayer cell and Bible study service
Prayer cell and Bible study group are divided by the postal code and is held on every second and fourth Friday/Saturday of the month at the church member’s houses in turn.

5. Children Sunday school.
Children Sunday school is held on every Sunday morning before the Sunday mass worship service between 10:00am to 11:00am. There are two Sunday school classes according to the age group. The children have been taught Bible stories, Christian belief and Gospel songs with some art and craft activities in Sunday school.

6. Women Service
Women Service is held in second week Sunday of every month either in the church member’s houses or at church.

II. Education activities
1. Summer Kachin Literature and Bible study program for Children
LKBC held Summer Kachin Literature and Bible study program for children as a Christian education activity of the Church. The children from the LKBC church and Kachin community attended Kachin literature and bible study program for a weeks in summer.

ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES
All of the members of LKBC staff are contributing on a voluntary basis. All public relations, secretarial and financial accounting work are carried out by volunteers.
The Trustees are striving to keep the operating costs of the charity to a minimum.
Statement of Trustee’s Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing Trustees Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.
For preparing the financial statements, the trustees are required to:

Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and well judged;

State whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, any outgoing item disclosed and explained in the financial statements;

And prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue operation.
Independent Examiner
David Turner of CP Finance was appointed as the charities’ independent examiner during the year and they have expressed their willingness to assist in that capacity. A resolution proposing their re-appointment or this year was approved at the AGM 2023.

10. Basic preparation
The financial statements have been prepared to give a true and fair view and in accordance with the Financial Reporting
Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008), the Charities Act 2011 and the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice, Accounting and Reporting by Charities.
11. Accounting polices
Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy.
Resources expended
Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category.
Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
12 Employees Remuneration
There were no employees during the year.
13. Trustees' Remuneration and Expenses
No remuneration was paid during the year and no reimbursement is due at the year end.
14. Capital Commitments
There were no capital commitments at 30th Sept 2023.
15.Taxation
London Kachin Baptist Church is a registered Charity and is exempt from taxation in respect of Income and Capital Gains under Section 505 of the Taxes Act 1988 and Section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 to the extent that such income or gains are applied exclusively to charitable purposes.
