The accounts and all supportin8 documents for the year ended 3 September 2025 have been independently examined by John Hepworth ACA This year has seen a 15% increase in income1£20.9631, with a 30% increase in expenditure1£34,2891, resultlng in a small boost to the cash at bank at the end of the year1£29,814.89 @ 3010912024 vs £37,105.07 @ 30109120251. Material increase in Owner and Trainer Oonations1£27,8351 primarily due to us now routinely askin8 greyhound owners and trainers for a contribution towards the cost of their care once surrendered. There was a small increase in Fundraising, Sponsorship and Donation income during the year 1£4,3121. which is a fantastic result given the challen8ing economic landscape. These increases were partially oftset by a reduction in Adoption Fees and GBGB Bond Receipt51£9.0911, primarily due to reduced intske186 v5 971 and fewer enhanced adoptKJn donations. enditure
As ever, the largest areas of expenditure were in relation to Wages1£96.2791 and Veterinary Fees 1£20,3651. There was a significant increase in our wages cost146%1. This was due to increased staffing, which w35 necessary due to the kennel manager stepping back from covering kennel shifts, tO8ether with an increase in the NMW from April 2025. We anticipate a further increase in the year to September 2026. Veterinary Fees remained in line YOY. stsffin Staffing has been fairly constant in the year to 30 September 2024, with the increase in c05t primarily being driven by increasing the hours of existing part time slaff. in We had no new fundraising initiatives durin8 the year, and it remains Important for us to attract and retain sponsors for the kennels and long-staying dogs in our care. We contlnue to work wlth A8rla Pet Insurance who offer 5 weeks Ie insurance for each dog homed. then rf the owners contfnue their coverage with Agrla we ceIve a bonus payment. Our Christmas Raffle, Christmas Cards and calendar sales maIn popular, however we have noted a decline in card sales, thought to be due to the inCaSe in postage costs, together with environmental awareness. We plan to attend more events in the futu. to promote the profile of 8reyhounds as pet5 and Crossin8 Cottage in parhcular, as well as to raise fund5. Future Plans We need to continue to attract and retain volunteers to help both at the kennels and at events. We also need to be more organised in our management of the volunteer team, so we can call on them when requlred. We will continue with the GBG8 Bond Scheme and persist in asking owners and trainers for contributlons towards the cost of the care of greyhounds when surrendered to US. We also need to continue explorin8 more fundraising opportunities and increasing engagement in our local community. 10
