The trustees present their report for the year ended 3tr' September 2023.
The accounts and all supporbng documents for the year ended 3tt Septernber 2023 have been
examined and checked by R W Oakes of David Mitchell Accountancy Ltd.
This year has seen both an increase in income and a decrease in expenditure. resulting in a boost to
the cash at bank at the end of the year1£719.13 @ 3010912022 vs £8,928.52 @ 3010912023).
Income
Material increase in Fundraising Incorne1£8,859.21} primarily due to the Shades of Greyhound
projert and the Online Art Auction. together with an upturn in GBGB Bonds Received1£6,CWI.
These increases were partially offset by reduced income in relation to Kennelling Fees1£5,779.58)
and Sale of Goods1£4,340.91).
Ex enditure
As ever, the lar8est areas of expendFture were in relation to Wage51£38.078.381 and Veterinary Fees
1£22,051.761. There was an increase in our wages cost of appx 18.5%1£5.942.641. However it was

not necessary for us to make payments to G8GB in ￿ler to claim from their Bond Scheme which
resulted in a saving of £9,8￿.
Staffin
stsffin8 has been a challenge in the year to 3tt September 2023. Both Tracy Ryan (Kennel Manager)
and Tara Holland (Administrator) left the kennels during the financial year. The stsffing costs were
also impacted by Judith's poor heatth. She sadly passed away shortly after the end of the financial
year.
Both the administrat6on and kennel management has been picked up by Karen Turner-Nash.
supported by a team of part-time employees and ¥olunteers.
Fundraisin
We had great success with our new fundraising initiative5 during the year, however it is importsnt for
us to attract and retain sponsots for the kennels and lon8-stsying dogs in our tare.
We continue to work wTrth Agria Pet Insurance WIK) offer 5 week5 free insurance for each dog homed.
then if the owners continue their coverage with Agria we receive a bonus payment.
Our Christmas Raffle, Chri5trnas Cards and calendar sales are alvAys popular and again we attended
the Greyhound Derby Final at Towcester Racecourse in July where we raised appx £3,LUI.
We plan to attend more events in the future. to promote the profile of greyhound5 as pets and
Crossin8 Cottage in particular, a5 well as to raise funds.
Future Plans
We need to continue to attrart and retsin ￿lUnteerS to help both at the kennels and at events. We
also need to be mofe or8anised in our management of the wlunteer team, so we can call on them
when required.
We will continue with the GBGB Bond Scherne and maintsin our relationship with Towcester
Racecourse. as their dogs are funded at £6 per day.
We also need to explore more fundraising opportunities and increase engagement in our local
comrnunity.
