The overriding purFK)se of the chanty Is to improi'e the health and wellkin8 of the ￿Ople
livinby in Kelsall and the surrounding ¢ommunity and io build community system4

processe5, cohesion and resilience. The charity does this bv thck.ling loneliness and the other
l55ue5 that we hav¢ recobynise& using people dra￿.￿ from the commumty alongside
¢ommunity services and charity professionals.
The main focus for the fir%1 ph&8e ￿?$ to raise funding lo build and equip a Wellbeing Hub
and adjacent sen50ri' bjarden. This phase was compleied in February ?0?3. The Wellbeing
Hub was OFtned in March ?023 and immediately provided a drop in café every week day
morning nm by volunteers and activitiegtalks were orBani5ed for the afternoon sessions.
There are nine Trustees who have staggered re*elertion to ensure the etricienl running of the
charitv Truslees can be drawn from the PPG m¢mb¢rship and the wider commumtv. In
s¢lecting indii'iduals for appK)inlment as chan'ty Trus(ees, the exi5tin¥ .1 rust<Ys will have
rcgard io skills. knowledge and exwi¢ncc needed for the efTective adminislTation of the
cio.
The charity Tn￿leeS manage the affairs of the CIO and for that purwse exercise all the
ivers of the CIO. Th¢ tx)wers. full duties and resp)n51bilith¢s of th¢ Truste¢5 ar¢ s¢1 out in
the CIO Constitulion.
The Truslees can delegate their wwers or functions to a committee or committees, and if
they do, delemiine the iems and condilions on which the delebyalion is made The chariiy
Truslees may at anv lime aiier thos¢ t¢rms and conditions or revoke the delegyalion.
Previously there were two .%U￿ committee one for Fundraising) and one tor OF¢ralional
matters. It was feli thai Ihis produced a lol of repetttion and ihat the charity could run
smoothlv without them. It Is planned ivith the need to increase fundrnising in ?025 to
reinstaie th¢ Fundralsing commitlee at the beBinnin¥ of ihc )'car.
The Fundraising committee is open to all members of the community. Ai l¢ast one Trustee
attends each Fundraising Committee and the Chair of ihe Committee repK)rts back on ils
progrc5s lo thL Board of Trustee5 every i￿0 months.
We employed a full time Managcr up until Septemkr bui financial constraims were causing
concern for the long lenn future ofihe charity. So. li was decided thai we Just employ a FQrt
time cafe Su￿ryI50r and part lime administrator to supwrt the charity..
W¢ have 50 volunleers from community helping with fundraisTng, Tunning ihe drop in
afe, acting as community comiectors. lending the gar<kn and SUP￿rtIng activities h¢ld in the
Hub and other local venues.
Risk Illxnagement
The Trusle¢% have considered ihe major risks to wkn'ch ihe charity, is exN)sed and review
thos¢ risks regularlv and have established 5VStem5 and procedures to manage ihem.
The major risk 15 Ihai ihe funds w¢ hai'e are not Ca￿ble of delivering a sustainable Hub
operation. We manage this nsk by careful consideration of the prorx)sed Hub capital and
running costs. We are undertaking close anal)'sis of management models and options. This
process involves drdwryng on best practice. professional advice and the ex￿rienCe within the
Trustees professional catmcity. This pr(Kess includes discussion with the Kelsall Medical

Centre {as the main NHS health care proN'ider) and other relei'anl partie5 including other
charity. organisations and NHS providers delI￿ering comwabl¢ services.
Objectives of the chgrity for publie benefit
The main objeciive of the charity is to raise money for the operation of a Wellbeing Hub thai
will provide services that complemenl the clinical services delivered bs. the generdl
practitioners. Those activilies are about social prescnbingi. combating loneliness. addressing
youth mental health and providing a CommuniTh' Cafe io ensure local wple of all ages have
access to services close io home in a welcoming and safe enviTonmenL
The NHS does nol cover the costs of building. cquipping or 0￿ra￿.n￿j such a Hub. TheT¢fore,
the charity'5 fundraising is principally for the following:

Provision of activities to SUPtK)rt our objeclives
. StatT. whether pemianeni. I¢M￿)rary or ad hoc. and &ssociaied operating costs.
Reserves Policy
This will calculdled using our annual running costs lo ensure that al any th'me we are able
lo cover our overheads lor a minimLun 6 monihs.
Communiegtionj
Engagemenl with the commun?ty and rni5ing awareness of what is going on in the Wellbeing
Hub is an esseniial Fon of ihe work of ihe chanty. This is achieved throub?h a dedicaled
Facebook and Insthgram p8¢. our websile. wisters and through re￿rtIng regular upjaies in
key local publications. e.g.. KADRAS. IK¢lsall and Dislricl Rural Amenities Society.} We
have shar¢d uur eX￿rienCe aboul the project ￿1th other Palieni Participation Groups, the
Parish Council and ￿1th other locai groups We have attended events in other local villages to
again raise awareness. A mix of social media and traditsonal Communication has been
valuable to ensure all mcmbers of the community are kept up to date.
We held a successful Wellbeing evenl at th¢ sarne tsm¢ ￿ the annual flu clinic which allowed
us lo complete a survey to undersLqnd bell¢r what the need of the community i5. Youth
Mentsl health was high on the list.
We have engaged wilh oiher local charities, NHS service providers, IcKal councillors arld our
MP.
Plans for Ihe Future
In the COrnTng year, the forus will be on continuing lo provide activities within the Hub to
combai social isolation in ihe elderly and wellbeing evenls to knefil all the community We
have start¢d to address youth mental health issues and hope to expand this further next y￿.
