Para 1.17 and 1.19 The Charity's main activity in 2024 was the employment of a children's and youth minister, who carried out much of his duties in support of Emmanuel Church Tolworth. From time to time, the Charity may also provide funds to support members of the church family at Emmanuel Church ToEworth in activities which help advance the Christian gospel, such as Christian training and short-term mission trips, bLrt it did not do so in 2024. Other Achievements and Performance SORP reference The Charity's sole employee in 2024 was the Children's and Youth Minister, who carried out his duties supporting the ministry at Emmanuel Church Tolworth. His primary responsibilities were providing leadership and organisation of the Christian ministry for children and young people at the Church, which is open to everyone. This induded leading the all-age slots in the Sunday morning services., overseeing and regularly leading the Sunday fnorning groups for children from age 3 to school year 6 (Jesus and Me, or"JAM°) and young people in school years 7-9 ('Palhfinders"); running Cross Train, a weekly youth outreach programme for children and young people in the last year of primary school and earty years of secondary school- overseeing Kangaroo Club for children under 5 and their parents I Summary of the main achievements of the charity. identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any WKler benefits to society as a whole. It succeeded in 2024, primarily owing to the receipt of one-off gifts. Financial Review Review of the charity's financial posilion at thè end of the period Par8 1.21 The accounts show Ihat the Charrty received income in the period of £95,843, versus payments of £78,616, resulting in a net increase of cash funds during the period of £17,227. The main outgoings of the Charity were personnel-related expenses for the employee.. primarily the cost of accommodation for him and his family. which the Charity provided for the better performance of his duties, and his salary. At the end of the period, the Charity held cash funds of £67.610, composed of the following amounts-. £58,305 cash in bank accounts,. £6,400 rent deposit., £2,905 tax recovery. The Charity also holds a long-term lease on property at Flal 1, 444 Ewell Road, Surbiton, KT6 7EL which is represented on the balan sheet al its cost of £191.618. This flat is let to tenants to gain rental income. Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held Para 1.22 The Charity's reserves policy directs trustees to deploy its financial resources lo further the Charity's objects and not to hoard cash, whilst also seeking to set aside funds when possible to safeguard the Charity's ability to further its objects in harder financial times. Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 At the end of the period, the charity had £58,305 of cash is the bank. All the available reserves were held in cash owing to the unpredictability of one-off giving, and because the charity's income would have been less than its expenditure had it nol been for this one-off giving, and the trustees wanted to ensure the Charity always had enough financial liquidity to meet expected cash requirements with an appropriate buffer. Nevertheless, owing to the relatively healthy amount of cash held in the Charity's bank account, and an expected reduction in personnel costs during 2025 following the resignation of the employee in January 2025, the trustees do not deem there to be UnrtaInty about the Chanty continuing as a going concem for at least the following 12-month period. Most of the other income was rental income from the Charity's property at 444 Ewell Road in Surbiton. Investment policy and objectives including any social investment policy adopted The charity has a reserves policy but not an investment policy because the amount of investsble assets (i.e. cash) has been onsidered by the trustees to be too small to consider investing beyond an instant- access savings account. Paya 1.46 The Charity holds a long-temi lease on the property at Flat 1, 444 Ewell Road in Surbiton. This was originally purchased to provide accommodation to employees of the Charity for the better performance of their duties. The property was too small to accommodate the Charity's employee and his family, so the property is let to tenants to provide a rental income to the Charity. The trustees intend to Continue to hold this property to benefit from the rental income. and to be in a position to provide accommodation to potential future ees.
