Trustees and staff which f￿￿ed our determination to appoint a Di￿tOr to the
organlsation. From a very hi8h quality fleld of candldates. we were deLi￿ted to appoint
Stephen Munn as Arts Oerbyshire Director in October. SteF+*n brirqs his considerable
experience and ￿derStandIng of the sectrK to the role and has lost rn tirne in creatlng an
exdting strategic fraff￿0rk and acti￿ plan, in pr¢Xl￿1nq fund-ralslng bids to natIc￿al,
pubilc and private ￿ganISatI￿5. and In consoildatln8 immant partnerships across the
county.

Head of Arts at twbyshire Cwnty c￿nd1, at her retlrement in October. Ann ha5 worked
tlrelessly. with vision and foresight, knowledge understandirq for the arts in
DerbyshSre. Having started Derbyshlre Arts Development Group in 2012, Ann,
foreseeing need for an independent organisaticn to carry on the c(Yffitywlde work,
steered DADG towards charity statu5 in 2019. Through her role at Derbyshire County

The year has been cne of iaylng the f(xThlatlL￿s for the future with the Trustees
prioritising the recruitment of a Director to enable a 5U5tainable f￿Ure for the
organi5ation. Tr board was delighted to brfng Stephen Munn Into thts rde In October
2023.
Stephen's flrst observation was the f￿ssed c￿nMItment of the Staff and Trustees. There
was, and is. a determinatim that Arts Derb￿lre will $￿ceed even in these most
challenging of econcffjic til￿. The year has witnessed rnany Local A￿hOritIeS struggle to
balance thelr budgets and tkrbyshire County CowKiI IDCCI was rn exception. ottober
2023 sadly saw the C￿tIng of the OCC Arts Service. The Council has remained an advocate
for CLdture and through the C￿ture, Herita8e & T¢xrism board oihL¥ q>POrtthitles have
arisen.

Festival5 have embraced technology and now have significantly more dI￿tal l online
activities providing alternative ways to accessing festival content remotely.
We contacted all the Festivity members at Christmas 2023 to ask them to share thelr 2024

website to build anticipation for the 2023 festivals aThl were relieved by ThJ)*)er of

Genever has completed an initial scwing exploration via many conversati￿5 with people
