## **1. CHARITY OVERVIEW**
**What the charity does:** Amateur sport **Who the charity helps:** People with disabilities (mental and physical) **How the charity helps:** Provides services, advocacy, advice, information **Where the charity operates:** Throughout England **Registration history:** 15 July 2019 (CIO registration) **Other names:** No other names, but sometimes referred to as the "DGA" **Gift Aid:** Not recognised by HRMC for gift aid **Land and property:** This charity does not own and/or lease land or property
## **2. OBJECTIVES OF THE CHARITY**
## **Charitable objects**
1. To promote the health of disabled people for the public benefit by creating or assisting in creating opportunities for them to participate in the game of golf.
2. To promote social inclusion in golf for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate in to society. For the purpose of this clause "socially excluded" means being excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of ill health (physical or mental); discrimination on the grounds of disability.
3. The promotion of equality and diversity in golf for the public benefit by the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of disability.
## **3. ACTIVITY**
The Disabled Golf Association promotes disabled golf in England.
Our key activities are:
1. Organising around 50 golf events across England for disabled golfers.
2. Work with golf clubs to help them become more "disabled friendly".
3. Organise coaching sessions to introduce disable people to golf.
4. Work with England Golf and other sporting and golfing organisations to promote disabled golf

A statement of accounts for the year ending 28 February 2021 has been submitted with this report.
**Total income: £13,001.69 ( 2019/20 .... £14,677 ) Total expenditure: £6,982.72 ( 2019/20 .... £16,199 )**
The DGA has received no income or benefits from government contracts or government grants.
## **6. REVIEW OF 2020/21**
The activity of the DGA was significantly curtailed by the impact of Covid 19. The programme of golf events was cancelled.
However, efforts were made to keep in touch with members through the DGA newsletter.
