Objects
The prevention or relief of poverty anywhere in the world by providing: grants and items to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.
Our mission is to supply regular shipments of food, warm clothes and other life essentials.
Statutory Declaration on Public Benefit
The trustees declare that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers or duties.
Executive Summary
We use Social Media to keep in regular contact with volunteers and organisations working on the ground in the countries we support. This gives us an insight into exactly what is needed and where. It also enables us to confirm to our donors that the aid we send reaches the correct destination.
A list of the “People We Support” can be found at the end of this document.
We hold regular meetings and work alongside several other charities and groups from Lancashire, The midlands and North Wales. This enables us to make informed decisions on when and where to provide aid and to make the best use of our limited resources.
Although some of the aid we supply is sent from the UK, it is often more economical for us to grant funds to charities and groups operating in the areas we support. This money is then used to purchase food and essential items locally, reducing transport costs and supporting their local economy. We obtain original receipts for such purchases whenever possible.

Activities, Achievements & Performance
We continued our arrangement with several other larger charities, including The Free Shop who transport items of clothing to the refugee camps in Lebanon, and Cribs International who transport suitable clothing, toiletries and foot wear to mothers and children in Athens, which allowed us to send aid to their depots in the UK. From there our boxes of aid were put on to pallets or loaded on to containers for shipping abroad. The majority of boxes for this period were packed courtesy of myself, Heulwen Dickinson, at our home in Llandudno.
Fundraising Activities
Barry and Heulwen continued to raise a modest amount for the charity through the propagation and sale of indoor plants and the sale of home-made produce. They were also able to set up a couple of fundraising events similar to those we organised on Anglesey though on a much smaller scale. Our fundraising activities for 2024 included a visit with our charity stall to a local community Christmas fair. Meanwhile Carys continued to sell second hand books and other small items at the Bay Café, with all proceeds being put towards our various charity projects. Betty continued to raise funds for RRYM by advertising and selling donations that were unsuitable for sending out to different organisations.
In December 2024, Barry and his friend Chris Copeman organised a sponsored swim in Llandudno main pool. Their aim was to complete a distance of 10km by attending several swimming sessions during the course of the month. Thanks to their efforts they managed to raise the magnificent sum of £2,356.
Shipping costs
Due to the near impossibility of exporting aid directly to the EU following Brexit, we were unable to ship donated items direct to refugees in Europe this year, so no shipping costs were incurred by the charity.

We showcase the work of our charity and request public donations on our Website https://RRYM.UK and on our Facebook page refugeereliefynysmon.
This year we have received Donations of £14,912 and Other income of £0.00
This includes £1,596 from charity ‘Muslim Relief’ towards our Lebanon Special Needs School appeal.
Fundraising activity
Items which have been donated but which are not required by the displaced people we support are sold either at local events or on social media to raise funds.

There were none given this year.
Purchasing Aid
Our main expenditure this year has been purchasing essential items and funding vital projects in Lebanon, Uganda and Greece.
These were managed on our behalf by trusted volunteers in these countries.

They included £11,180 to Global Helping Hands to support Special Needs at Dar Al Amal school and families living in the Arsal refugee camps in Lebanon.

The people we support
This document covers the period from 6 March 2024 to 5 March 2025.
Occasionally we are able to supply aid directly to displaced people, either in the UK or in refugee camps, who have been referred to us by a trusted volunteer or group.
However as we are such a small charity with few volunteers most of the aid we collect is shipped to one of the following organisations, who we trust to purchase or distribute the aid on our behalf. We receive frequent reports and photographs of these distributions, which we display on our Facebook page and Website as evidence to our donors that the aid has reached its intended destination.
Lebanon Global Helping Hands
At the beginning of March, 2023, we agreed to work alongside a UK based charity, Global Helping Hands, in an attempt to improve the lot of Syrian refugees struggling to survive under the harshest of conditions in the mountains of Lebanon.
09/04/2024 £1,950.00. RRYM sent a payment to cover the cost of the summer term for the special needs class at Dar Al Amal school. This sum also included the purchasing of basic items such as winter clothing and warm blankets for many Syrian families who were in dire need of such items after a fire tore through their camp, destroying most of what few possessions they still had. 14/06/2024 £2,000.00. In June RRYM sent out funds to purchase summer clothes for numerous refugee children residing in the camps in Lebanon. Fans were purchased for some of the tents as well as large quantities of fresh fruit and vegetables, and a great many bottles of water. 19/07/2024 £430.00. RRYM were able to raise funds to support a young Syrian boy who had been discovered trying to support his family by selling biscuits on the streets of Lebanon. As the sole provider for his family at just nine years old, he had never had the opportunity to attend school. A place was duly found for him at Dar Al Amal where he has made significant progress.
01/09/2024 £900.00. In July and August, several medical cases in need of urgent help were brought to our attention. This included an adult male with extremely severe psoriasis and another man in desperate need of a wheelchair. We were able to raise sufficient funds to enable both men to access what they needed to vastly improve their situation.
23/09/2024 £1,680.00. We were able to get our winter campaign off to a good start by sending out funds to help cover the cost of heating oil, blankets and food baskets for families residing in the camps in Arsal, Lebanon. Several families were in need of new tents, and it was a pleasure to be able to provide them with same.
11/11/2024 £2,517.00. Once again RRYM were able to pay the school fees for the special needs class in Dal al Amal school. We were also able to provide the organisers with sufficient funds to take the special needs children, along with the abled bodied ones, out to a nearby playground where they spent the day playing and integrating with one another. There was enough money to provide all the children with a hearty meal at the end of the day.
19/12/2024 £1,709.00. In December we sent funds over to pay for winter items for a great many refugee families, many of whom had moved to the camps from Beirut following a heavy bombing campaign carried out by Israel. Items included tents and tarpaulins, blankets, heating oil and winter clothing.

Donation to Shaz Shauket
03/12/2024 £100.00. In December 2024 our charity donated £100 towards the purchasing of duvets for an orphanage in Pakistan. The appeal was launched by a trusted friend of the charity who has visited the orphanage on numerous occasions.
Hope Project
19/12/2024, RRYM donated £100 to the Hope Project on Lesbos who were in desperate need of extra funding to pay for basic meals for the refugees who attend their workshops. We have supported the Hope Project who are a registered charity run by Eric and Philippa Kempson since our inception in March 2016.
Turkey Family Support
03/02/2025 £887.58. It was a pleasure to be able to support two Syrian families now residing in Turkey with some basic needs. These included the purchasing of a second hand electric bike which enabled one of the men to launch and operate his business as a plumber. The rest of the money was spent on food and furniture for the other family.
Gideon Uganda Family Support
28/02/2025 £1,015.00. In February we were approached by Gideon, a /Congolese refugee who has been sheltering in Kiangwali refugee camp in Uganda for the past few years. Gideon had previously proved invaluable in helping our charity research then set up the library project in the camp. He had been hoping for resettlement in the US back in October 2023, but had been refused on medical grounds as his blood pressure was way too high for flying to be considered an option. He needed financial support to enable him to continue to care for his four daughters aged between sixteen and five years. We were able to provide him with a tidy sum to cover his needs until he can be resettled in a different country, since President Trump has halted all resettlement programs to the US indefinitely. The money provided will cover the cost of food, clothes, medication and an education for his four daughters until such time as they can be considered for a different program.
