## **ADVENT WORLDWIDE - INFORMATION**

The Trust was established on 1 August 2012 and then amended on 1 July 2019 and is administered and managed in accordance with its constitution. The charity is registered with the Charity Commission on 12 July 2019 – number 1184389.

The Trust's principal purposes and objects are to :-

- To advance the knowledge of the Christian faith in the UK and any part of the world for the public benefit by providing financial grants to individuals pursuing Theological training to be vicars, priests, pastors and youth workers during their time of training.

- The prevention or relief of financial hardship anywhere in the world by assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient.

- The relief of financial hardship, either generally or individually, of people living in UK by making grants of money for providing or paying for items services or facilities.

The Trust is administered by the Trustees who aim to meet at least twice throughout the year. As part of its general administration function, the Trustees are responsible for the regular review and mitigation of risk.

The Trust's policy on reserves is to ensure that sufficient funds are maintained to meet its anticipated outlays, both for direct charitable expenditure and for management and administration. There is no intention to accumulate large reserves, but the accumulated fund figure tends to be highest at the year-end date because cash inflows tend to peak then, while outflows are much more evenly spread through the year.

The following are Trustees and they all continued to serve throughout the year.:

## **ADVENT WORLDWIDE – INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT for the Year Ended 31 July 2022**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 July 2022. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). The Trustees consider that an audit is not required and that an Independent Examination is needed.

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn to this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **ADVENT WORLDWIDE - TRUSTEES’ REPORT for the Year Ended 31 July 2022**

The vision for Advent Worldwide is that people would feel actively loved in many different ways. That the words “Love in Action” would mean something and that those touched by Advent Worldwide would be touched by Christ their saviour.

Advent Worldwide is called to give gifts of love to those that God places on our hearts and to advance the Christian faith in the UK through the provision of financial aid that supports the following activities:-

1. The giving of gifts for the benefit of the public to enhance a sense of self worth.

2. Pastoral support in various community outreach initiatives.

3. Christian support groups that encourage social inclusion.

4. Support for those seeking to further their Christian Ministry via education.

5. Through partnership with other Christian Ministries for the aid of poverty relief.

This year Advent Worldwide has continued with our regular giving to Compassion and Toybox in support of six children living in Ghana, Haiti, El Salvador and Colombia.

The trustees also continued with supporting the Numa Church in Vancouver, Freedom in Christ ministry and a youth worker who is in Los Angeles, USA to assist with a refuge outreach and homelessness program via a local church. We have also supported a UK midwife working in Ghana and made a donation to RUSH - an Orphanage and school in Kenya.

We have continued the regular savings program into a restricted reserve account so that we are able to financially support future work of the Cherish outreach program, which involves preparing the mind and bodies of young women over a six week course, teaching manicure techniques whilst discussing life issues and discovering the story of Esther from the bible.
