Report for the Charity Commission covering the period August 2020 to July 2021

The period from July 2020 to June 2021 has been a difficult time for our charity, as I am sure it has been for many similar organizations. However, with careful and controlled activities we have been able to progress considerably.

Towards the end of the period we were able to accommodate a crafting section which consists mainly of ladies who undertake a wide range of activities. This was really an extension of the PPE manufacturing undertaken during the initial lockdown and has now grown to include artist, card makers, knitters and many other activities. This has helped considerably with our monthly income.

Along with the normal shed activities we have been able to utilize much of the main shed space to take in used furniture and re-furbish to sell on. This has helped both ourselves, and the local community by adding to our income whilst providing affordable furniture to those in need.

Several improvements have been made to the premises during this time also, these include the additional lighting in a large upstairs area used by the crafting section, a disabled toilet and a ladies toilet. Heating remains a problem which has been partially solved by the purchase of addition portable heaters, however, a more permanent solution is being considered.
