Trustees Annual Report April 2020 - March 2021
This was a particularly difficult period for the charity and the UK as a whole as we were operating throughout a nationwide 'Lockdown' and subsequent restrictions. However, we still managed to get our aims and objectives communicated as best as we could . We had online meetings via social media channels. We purchased equipment to achieve these and along with volunteering from Holly Baird were able to keep very active. We purchased leaflets , we made training videos available via social media channels. More Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kits were being purchased and we managed to hold our annual Train the Trainer event in October 2020. This was a socially distanced event, which was very well received. In November we had the launch of the first UK 24hr public access Emergency Bleed Control Cabinet which was designed exclusively for The Daniel Baird Foundation. The event was much publicised and we purchased several of these cabinets for Birmingham and one for City of London which was installed in Liverpool Street Station. We also purchased and installed the first ever UK combined Public Access Defibrillator and Bleed Control Kit cabinet, in Dudley, West Midlands. Our spending increased during this period and lives continued to be saved. We still did not apply for any public funding, did not have any paid staff, and considered our aims and objectives met and public benefit achieved.
