Activity Report
The Stones Community Trust (SCT) is Maidstone United FC’s non-profit making charity for delivering various community projects in the Maidstone area. The SCT is a CIO, has seven trustees and is registered at The Charity Commission under registration number 1184274.
It has been in existence since 2018. It is independent financially and operationally from the Club. The Trust has no paid employees and is funded solely by Grants from various bodies and Sponsorship from community partners. It also governs disabled sport within Maidstone United Raiders (more than 150 junior and adult members) as well as Walking Football (more than 60 members aged over 50).
Our objective: to provide activity and interventions in support of the people of Maidstone in areas of Wellbeing and Health; Sporting development activity and social interaction. We also provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Schools Out Free Activities Club
We have been running this Programme during school holidays and half terms since our existence in 2018 in Shepway and Parkwood, Maidstone.
In October 2021, we ran a five-day programme at Greenfields Community Primary School in Shepway, Maidstone ME15. We provided around 200 places with free hot meals over the half term.
At Christmas/New Year 2021, we ran a five-day programme at Greenfields Community Primary School in Shepway, Maidstone ME15. We provided around 200 places with free hot meals over that period.
In February 2022, we ran a five-day programme at Greenfields Community Primary School in Shepway, Maidstone ME15. We provided around 200 places with free hot meals over that period.
Greenfields – Easter 2022 <<<
At Easter (April) 2022, we ran a four-day programme at Greenfields Community Primary School in Shepway, Maidstone, ME15. We provided 232 registered places with free hot meals over that period.
In addition, we secured another venue at Tree Tops Primary Academy in Parkwood, Maidstone, ME15, ran a four-day programme and provided 168 registered places with free hot meals. A total of 400 registered places were provided at Easter 2022.
During Summer 2022, we ran a three week, four days a week programme at Greenfields Community Primary School in Shepway, Maidstone, ME15. We provided 576 registered places with free hot meals over that period.

Having secured another venue at Easter 2022, we were able to continue at this location at Tree Tops Primary Academy in Parkwood, Maidstone, ME15. We ran a three week, five-days a week programme and provided 930 registered places with free hot meals.

In addition, we were able to secure another venue at South Borough Primary School in Tovil, Maidstone, ME15. We ran a four week, four days a week programme and provided 880 registered places with free hot meals.
A total of 2,386 registered places were provided during Summer 2022.

In summary, from October 2021 to end of the Summer 2022, we provided around 3,386 registered places at our Schools Out programme funded partly by Kent County Council via The Education People (HAF), The National League Trust, Golding Homes and Waitrose .
Fit For Life
Working with Safer Kent, The Young Lives Foundation and Kent Police ; our courses were held over 12 weeks offering Football Coaching and an Educational Qualification in Football as well as some Social Activity for disengaged youngsters from Maidstone Secondary Schools, aged 11 to 16 years old. This was fully funded by Safer Kent (Kent Police Charity).
Fit4Life 1 took place from February to April 2022 and involved 12 weeks work for 14 Participants, a total of 168 places provided.
Fit4Life 2 took place from May to August 2022 and involved 12 weeks work for 30 Participants, a total of 360 places provided.
Fit4Life 3 started in September 2022 and eventually completed in December 2022. Only the first week was covered during this Financial Period where we provided 26 places. Sports Connect, a local Kent business, helped us with delivery of this particular programme.
A total of 554 places were provided for our Fit4Life programme.
FitStones at the Gallagher
Weekly exercise and wellbeing course at the Gallagher Stadium in partnership with Strictly Fitness, Energise Fitness and Wellbeing People.
We ran three x 13-week programmes during 2022 aiming to improve men and women’s wellbeing, fitness, provide lifestyle guidance, weight and nutritional guidance.
This programme was supported by Maidstone Borough Council as part of their Health Inequalities initiative. Partial funding was also obtained from The National League Trust .
FitStones 1 (men only) took place between March and May 2022 and involved 13 weeks’ work for 15 participants, a total of 195 places provided. This cohort gained 112 wellbeing years by completing this course.
FitStones 2 (men only) took place between June and September 2022 and involved 13 weeks’ work for 17 participants, a total of 221 places provided. This cohort gained 109 wellbeing years by completing this course.
FitStones 2 – September 2022 <<<
FitStones 3 (women only) took place between September and December 2022 and involved 13 weeks’ work for 22 participants. Only the first three weeks were covered during this financial period, a total of 39 places provided. Eventually, this cohort gained 69 wellbeing years by completing this course.

A total of 455 places were provided for our FitStones programme. The cohorts gained a combined total of 290 wellbeing years by completing our courses.
Under 11 Girls Football Tournament
On Monday 28 March 2022, 16 of Maidstone’s Primary School Teams ( Allington, Archbishop Courtenay, Brunswick House, Greenfields (x2), Harrietsham, Hunton, Laddingford, Marden, More Park, North Borough, Roseacre, St Johns, Tiger, VIPS @ Aylesford and West Borough ) or around 160 female footballers took part in a tournament at The Gallagher Stadium with a chance of representing Maidstone United at south-east regional and national finals.
Allington beat Archbishop Courtenay 2-0 in the final. They went onto win the regional finals at Bromley on 25 May 2022; the National Finals beckoned. On Thursday 7 July 2022, Allington Primary School representing Maidstone United FC were crowned national winners of the National League Trust U11s Girls Finals by beating Darlington on penalties! Partial funding was obtained from Safer Kent.

Primary FitStones
The SCT provided some football coaching, mostly for free, at various Maidstone primary schools during this financial year, starting only in May 2022. This coaching took place at Allington, Hunton, Oaks, Tree Tops, Harrietsham, South Borough, Lenham, Wateringbury and at the special educational needs school: Five Acre Wood .
We also provided referees for various tournaments for the primary schools, most of which took place at Greenfields Community Primary School .
Maidstone United Raiders FC
On 1 August 2021, Maidstone United Raiders FC became part of the SCT. With more than 120 pandisability players registered from ages youth to adult, the section expanded and developed to over 150 participants during 2022.

On Saturday 4 June 2022, Maidstone United Raiders FC delivered a Pan-Disability Tournament at the Gallagher Stadium with teams taking part from all over Kent. This was a huge success.
Walking Football
On 1 March 2022, Maidstone United Walking Football FC joined the SCT. There are around 60 members each over 50 years old playing matches and training at The YMCA in Maidstone.

On Saturday 18 June 2022, we delivered a Walking Football Tournament with teams from all over Kent and Sussex held at The Gallagher Stadium. This was also a huge success.
Miscellaneous
In addition to the above, The SCT sponsored the Maidstone & District Schools Girls U12s team and provided some training kit.

We also donated funds to some of Maidstone United’s Academy (supported by Cornwallis Academy ) coaches to purchase SCT branded training kit and essential equipment so they could work in schools. We also put some of the coaches through an FA Level 1 coaching course. We also attended some School Fetes to widen the name of The SCT including at Tree Tops Primary Academy and Bower Grove Special Needs School.
Training
During the financial year, we continued to provide access to training for our Delivery Partners as well as ensuring they had the appropriate DBS and Safeguarding certificates in place.
A number of key personnel also took the Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead training to enable us to further help young people with the programmes that we deliver.
Schools Out summer staff completed courses in Safeguarding as well as Food Allergy Awareness, Food hygiene, mental health awareness as well as First Aid.
Academy Partnership
We had numerous Maidstone United Academy players (supported by Cornwallis Academy ) working with us to assist delivery of our Programmes; we want to develop this relationship over the next financial year.
Summary
We are extremely pleased with all the activities that The SCT has undertaken to Year Ending 30 September 2022. We helped and made positive changes to so many people from the Maidstone Community.
The change in personnel in January 2022 took some transition but we are now excited and reenergised to try to develop and grow The SCT to be the premier provider in Maidstone.
