## **Trustees’ Annual Report for the period** **From 01/01/21 To 01/01/22** **Charity name: THE RDC FOUNDATION** **Charity registration number: 1184154** ## **Objectives and Activities** The trustees confirm they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Foundation’s aims and objectives in planning future activities and setting the grant making policy for the year The purpose of the RDC Foundation is to advance young people under the age of 21 in life for the public benefit through recreational and leisure time activities so as to develop their mental, physical and moral capabilities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society by such means as the trustees think fit, in particular but not limited to:- 1. Awarding grants for relevant equipment to charitable organisations engaged in adventurous activities for young people; and 2. Awarding to such persons grants toward costs of significant and life changing adventurous activities that they themselves have been heavily involved in planning. ## **Achievements and Performance** In the period of this report the Trustees have awarded £9,287.39 in grants including:  Equipment - 28th Bathampton Scouts - 5th Birmingham Scouts - University of Bristol Climbing & Mountaineering Club - 4th Gainsborough Scouts - West Devon District Scouts - Youth Adventure Trust - Byker Scout Group - Beyond Belief - 5th/9th Chelmsford Scout Group - 1st Ewell Court Scouts - 1st Ewell Court Scouts - 1st Sandleheath Sea Scouts - 9th Muswell Hill Scouts - 1st Warsach Sea Scouts - Laser Explorer Sea Scouts - 7th Boston Scout Group - 47th Newcastle Scouts - Articulate Arts - 2nd Beeston Sea Scouts - Stanleys scouts - Blacktoft Beacon District Scouts - Individual grants to support adventurous travel for personal development of young people: - Connor McDermott - Gabe Gentile - **o** Joe McDermott ## **Financial Review** In the period the Foundation raised £8,196.27 in donations and made grants totalling £9,287.39. As the UK recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic we continued to offer grants but subject to payment when conditions allowed for their use. The Trustees have adopted a policy of looking at available reserves and expected donations for the following 12 months and targeting to spend up to 25% of this amount each quarter subject to strict and careful review of applications received The Foundation maintains a healthy reserve to meet any particularly interesting and relevant grant making opportunities and will use its judgement on how best to utilise this during each grant making review. ## **Structure, Governance and Management** The RDC Foundation is a CIO with a constitution.
