STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The Mayor of Felixstowe Charity Fund is controlled by its governing document, the Constitution
dated 26° June 2019.
OBJECTIVES AND AIMS
The charity's objects I'the objects'l are:
For the benefit of such charitable purpose or purposes according to the laws of England and
Wales, or such charitable organisation, in particulai but not exclusively for the benefit of the
Tesidents of Felixstowe, as the trustees shall decide.
REVIEW OF 2022123
The Mayor of Felixstowe Charity Fund was formed in June 2019 to administer funds raised by the
Mayor in each municipal year.
In the civic year 2022123, Clli Sharon Harkin. as Mayor of Felixstowe, raised lunds for the
following three nominated charities:

Fundraising events included:
Fish and Chip Quiz Night
Murder Mystery Evenings
Fashion Show
Curry Night
Auction of Promises
Every Woman Counts Evening
Mayor's Charity Ball
Civic event collections and donations
Amongst the various successes were the Fashion Show, the Auction of Promises and the
M8yor's Charity Ball, which received a great deal of support, reflecting a full year of fundraising
since the pandemic.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Statement of Financial Activities. including Income and Expenditure Account for the Year
Ended 31" May2023 attached.
Income: £26,004.88
Expenditure: £24,090.94
Net movement in lunds for the year: £1,913.94
The Trustees note that, due to increased ch8ritable fundraising activities, the charity exceeded
the £25,000 threshold for audit. As such. the accounts have been reviewed and signed by an
MAAT-qualified independent examiner.
The funds raised were distributed equally among the three nominated charities, each receiving
£5.770 lin ILJIY 20231.
TRUSTEE REPORT
To fulfil it8 objectives. the Charity focuses on raising funds and increasing awareness of the
chosen charities for the Mayoml year. The success of fundraising events this year highlights the
generosity of the local community and the continued need for linancial support among local
charities.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
Since the formation of the Mayor of Felixstowe Charity Fund in 2019, the challenges presented
by the pandemic in 2020121 and the ongoing cost of living crisis have increased the need for
charitable support within the community. The Charity remains committed to selecting

beneficiaries that h8ve the greatest impact on the local area and continue to engage the
cornmunity in fundraising eff orts.
In approvingthis Annual Reportthe Trustees declare thattherewere no serious incidents
or other matters relating to the charity over the financlal year that should have been
brought to the attention ofthe Charity Commission.
