Als Pals Charity Number: 1184001 For The Period 1st August 2023 - 31st Juty 2024 Trustee Chair Report Some of my personal highlights from our activity this year include: contlnued delivery of fantsstic support to the many Cancer patlents and their families in Milton Keyne5 and beyond by our wonderful volunteers. The great job Karen Ple5ted in 6 months as our dedicated fundraiser instrumental in delivering an increase of circa 34% in our fundraising. Winning Silver medal in Community Business Awards Charity of the year, only beaten by a well-established MK charity of 20 years standing. The London- Paris bike ride team who dKI an amazinB job and raised slgnlflcant funds for our chafity Some fantastic fundraising events In particular the team who braved cyclone at the Wobum Music festival ar dld a great lob of en5urlng our marquee wasn't blown away. l)Jr annual Skydive that goes from strength to Stren8th. In partlcular the efforts from Claire at Sava who ralsed £5K I which was then matched by the generous owner at Sava I A5 alwayS1 we must extend our gratttude to all our buslnesses for thelr sponsorship and financial support In partlcular our frlends at Sava. bed by the Irrepressible Austin Ba88Ot Our success Is also directly linked to the hard work of our team of volunteers. We have made some really good progress thls year, and I'd like to personally thank every volunteer for givlng up their tlme. thelr energy, commltment and conslstency in dellvering the level of support that our charty strfve5 to dellver. Greater ntrOlS and processes are now In place followlng the Intensfve focuslng on costs and revenue generatlon and along with thls was the appolntment of a new accountancy firm. Essendon Accounts and Tax Ltd. Thls has already proven to be beneficial with regular reconclliations and reviews enabllng the CEO, Treasurer and Board to make timely, informed decislons whlch are more strateglc and le55 reactlve. There have been some slgnrficant donations made- through fvndralsfi events and pernal challenges lskydr¥es for examplel- Grant applications have seen some success and there are some potentlal legacles bequeathed whlch are yet to materialise. Whilst financlal strength is always a concern. AV5 Pals 15 robustly managing revenuè and expendrture and looking for every opportunity to grow an Increase.
