CHAIR’S REPORT – ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCE

As the previous annual reporting period ended we had started in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. As such our Pride event planned for 2020 was cancelled and was not able to go ahead during this reporting period.

To engage the community in other ways we launched a schedule of online activity, participating in online content curated by Jermin Productions, National Waterfront Museum, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, local artists and our own produced content. We were also able to deliver online get together events and mindfulness as part of an electronic programme of events.

We were able to contribute content to the Global Pride online event which was broadcast across the World with Prides all over the World coming together to broadcast for a 24 hour period.

As part of this time we have undertaken planning to consider the aims of the CIO over time including supporting the LGBTQ+ community and sustainability of the organisation.

RESERVES POLICY AND RISK MANAGEMENT

The Trustees recognise that control and management of risks is of crucial importance in ensuring the organisation’s future. The Trustees have deemed it prudent to have unrestricted funds (free reserves) held by the charity and notes this is not for profit but is to be used for the aims and objectives of the CIO in the future.

The charity has ZERO liabilities as at year end. However, these financial statements are prepared on the going concern basis. The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the CIO will continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES

The Trustees have prepared the financial statements of Swansea Pride CIO for the year ending 31 March 2021 which comprises of an income/expenditure balance sheet and notes to the accounts.

As explained more fully in the Trustees' responsibilities statement on page 4, the Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view.
