Trustee Annual Report for the Period: 1[st] February 2023 – 31[st] January 2024.

Aim and purpose

Alma Group aims to advance the conservation and improvement of the physical and natural environment for the benefit of the public in any part of the world by providing capacity building activities, advancing environmental education, raising awareness and carrying out scientific research.

Objectives and activities

During the planning of our objectives and activities for the year, the board of trustees specifically considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. In particular, the ‘Objectives and activities’ and ‘Achievements and performance’ sections provide a brief summary of the efforts undertaken for the overall aim to improve the physical and natural environment, together with a confirmation that the board of trustees have had regard to our guidance on public benefit.

The primary objectives during this period were to:

Achievements and performance

Following the completion of the project entitled Ba Nyamo Tanko, Alma has been horizon scanning for potential grant opportunities for the next project. Throughout this period, no grant programmes were deemed suitable.

Financial review

The balances carried forward on the 31[st] January 2023 on unrestricted funds totalled £18.79. Between 1[st] February 2023 to 31[st ] January 2024, total receipts on unrestricted funds amounted to £254. These funds were obtained through two donations of £204 and £50 from one of the trustees on the 13[th] and 16[th] of October respectively.

A total of £264.00 was spent on maintaining the website and leasing the domain for the charity and Ba Nyamo Tanko. Between the period in question, total expenditure was £264.

The net result for the year was an excess of payments over receipts by - £10.00.

Adding bank and deposit balances brought forward at the beginning of the year, the balances carried forward on the 31[st] January 2024 on unrestricted funds total £8.79.
