## **NATIONS TOGETHER (NT)– Annual General Meeting** 

Meeting:  Saturday 14 September 2024, 6.00pm, in person and Zoom

## 1. Welcome 

Welcome to Laura Cox, Maxine Phillips and Beverley Towle who attended in person and Lucy Mclachlan who attended via Zoom. 

## 2. Apologies 

Apologies from Nadia Sencer in being unable to attend this meeting. 

3. Minutes of last year’s AGM, held 2 October 2023 

Agreed as accurate by all present. 

## 4. Annual Report - Chairperson 

Staffing changes in Tanzania have enabled the Community Wellbeing Organisation (CWO) to move forward with more structure and a committed and motived staff body.  As at 14 Sept 2024, there are three permanent members of staff working for CWO and one casual member of staff.  CWO continues to support Service Users both within its office building in Boma and in the local community, up to 50km from its project centre. 

Weekly meetings via Zoom and written review, between CWO in Tanzania and NT in the UK enable effective communication and to improve understanding of both groups’ work, allowing for timely and effective changes, if needed. 

NT in the UK continues to look to be innovative and creative in its fundraising activities to ensure sufficient funds for CWO to operate for the benefit of its service users.  Thanks goes to everyone who has supported NT through fundraising activities and other support. 

5. Annual Report – Treasurer 

The Treasurer presented an overview, of the financial year 23/3/23-22/3/24 (detailed in appendix 1).  There was an increase in overall income from £5,198.94 in the financial year 2022-2023 to £12,985.89 in the financial year 2023-2024.  As at 31/3/24, NT’s balance sheet showed a credit of £1,962.93.  In the financial year 2023-2024, 81% of the £12,985.89 income was sent to CWO in Tanzania. 

## 6. Trustee Positions 

The Committee agreed to maintain the Trustee Post Holders from last year.

## Financial Report 

This financial report outlines the Income streams and outgoings of Nations Together. 

Nations Togethers funds predominantly are used to provide for the running costs of the project in Tanzania. 

Funds are sent to cover costs of salaries, transportation, meals, medication, activities and outings for the Service Users we provide for.

The report indicates that a very high proportion of all funds is sent directly to Tanzania to fulfil the objectives of Nations Together Community Wellbeing organisation.
