This year, Trustees and volunteers
managed a number of successful grant
applications and delivery of projects to
carry out substantial works to refurbish the
interior of the whole building. The
estimated value of the volunteers’
contribution to the refurbishment work was

The Charity was able to make available all
its community-valued assets for the whole
year. The number of regular hirers and
“one-off” private hires for parties and other
events returned to pre-pandemic levels and
increased further during the year.
The most significant achievement in the
year was the completion of the work to
redecorate and substantially modernise the
interior of the Hall.
The Charity was able to use the opportunity
offered by the refurbishment to create a
Community Café which opened in

Para 1.41|Charity’s aim continues to be to broaden
and extend the use of the Hall and other
facilities by more organisations and
individuals in the furtherance of the
Charity’s objects.
The Charity’s 4 main objectives for the year
were to:
1. to carry out significant internal
refurbishment to the Memorial Hall,
addressing the major operational risk
identified by the Charity.
2. to explore further opportunities for Grant
funding
3. to increase the use of the main hall and
newly created meeting rooms to more local
groups and Wolverley residents
4. To develop the strategy and operational
framework of the CIO following the end of
the pandemic, including the review of
policies and recruitment of new staff and
volunteers.
All these objectives were achieved.
Fundraising income met targets for the
regular care boot sales, children’s funfair,
and craft fayres.
Unfortunately, the planned Beer Festival
was cancelled due to the lack of sufficient
