## **Trustees’ Annual Report**

Lichfield Re:Cycle is a bicycle recycling and confidence-building charity working across the Lichfield District.

The trustees who served during the year and to the date of authorisation of the financial accounts were:

James Flintham (Secretary) Ed Strain (Treasurer) Simon Miller Alan Richardson (Retired July 2025)

Diane Harrison

Brett Jones (Retired July 2025) Philip Pendlebury (Retired July 2025) Trevor Hill Ian Covey

Our focus remains to provide free long-term loan bicycles from our base at Curborough Community Centre. Our volunteers meet weekly year-round and work on donated bikes. Examples of the reasons people have become beneficiaries of our charity include cycling to work to improve their mental or physical wellbeing, replacing stolen bikes, trying cycling for the first time, using it for transport, and for fun!

We would like to thank the generous community members who have made donations, the Lichfield Shrievalty Association for its donation, and Councillor Jamie Checkland for his grant.

We would like to thank all who took part in our fundraising Sportive, who made a donation to take part, which has greatly helped our Charity again this year.

## **Treasurer’s Report**

These accounts cover the CIO's seventh full financial period. Bank balance at the end of the year was **£4530.01** . This is £320.93 higher than the balance at the end of 2024.

Bike Sales (£2495) make up the largest source of income, with the Sportive in June also raising £1090.50. In 2025, the number of donations increased to £869. A massive thank you to all those who donated. We only had £175 in Grants this year, receiving £175 from Councillor Jamie Checkland. Reserves are healthy, with more than 15 months of operating costs in the account. A huge thank you to the volunteers who helped us sell so many bikes, keep us financially stable, and, to a large extent, self-funding. Big thanks as well to Ian Covey and the LeJog Sisters for helping us to put on another successful and profitable Sportive event!

We decided to invest in our Workshop this year, with significant expenditure on its structure, including roofing work and an interior redesign. We also

invested £750 in a fixed bike stand in the workshop. This will help volunteers working on both bikes for loanees, and on bikes for sale.

Lichfield Re:Cycle is now registered with HMRC for tax purposes, and we will soon be able to claim Gift Aid from donations. As we will be able to back-claim up to four years of gift aid from past donations, I hope to report a significant boost to our funds from this process in my next Annual Report.

## **With very many thanks**

Lichfield Re:Cycle is entirely run by volunteers. In addition to the trustees named above, we would like to thank those who have given their time this year to help with our workshop sessions or by volunteering from home:

Tony C, John M, Ian, Alan, Christine, Tony B, Paul, Paige, John H, Antonio, Daniel and Nick.

We are grateful for the support from various organisations and businesses, including:

Curborough Community Association, Bromford Housing, White Lodge Promotions and 50by50.

Finally, many thanks to the hundreds of people who have donated bicycles and parts to us this year, and to the thousands who have liked and shared our information on social media or by word of mouth.
