Activities
The advancement of education and the promotion of equality and inclusion of people with a learning disability and/or who are autistic in employability skills, so as to develop their capabilities that they can gain employment and lead independent and fulfilling lives. We do this through supporting and training partner organisations to deliver the DFN Project SEARCH Supported Internship Programme.
Objects: The Charity?s Objects are specifically restricted to,?for the public benefit: 3.1 The advancement of education of people with a learning disability, learning difficulties and/or who are autistic in employability skills so as to develop their capabilities that they can lead independent and fulfilling lives. Activities in support of this include but are not limited to: 3.1.1 Granting licences to partner organisations to deliver the DFN Project SEARCH programme, a supported internship programme that provides such people with structured in-work job coaching to help them make a positive transition from education into permanent employment in their local area; 3.1.2 Providing training and support to partner organisations to deliver the DFN Project SEARCH programme; and 3.1.3 Carrying out quality assurance and improvement of every programme to ensure that the DFN Project SEARCH programme is being carried out effectively. 3.2 The promotion of equality and inclusion in respect of people with a learning disability, learning difficulties and/or who are autistic. Activities in support of this include but are not limited to: 3.2.1 Raising awareness and advancing the education of the public and interested parties (including the Government, educators and employers) regarding the need to promote employment practices in the best interests of people with a learning disability, learning difficulties and/or who are autistic; and 3.2.2 Supporting people with a learning disability, learning difficulties and/or who are autistic to advocate for themselves and others so as to improve their employment opportunities.
