including funds for the construction and
improvement of domiciliary, educational

Para 1.17and 1.19
Trustees met three times during the year.
Unlike the previous year, this time it was
possible to meet in person, not online
meeting, as the pandemic restrictions were
eased.
Fund raising activity was not yet resumed.
However, box donations and personal gifts
of cash, cheques and bank transfers were
received. These funds were mainly received
from the people of the parish and other
individuals.
Trustees derived no personal benefit from
Achieve Africa support.
The trustees have had regard to the
guidance issued by the Charity Commission
on public benefit.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity's work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Having received with thanks substantially all
funds held by the former NATWEST
account, which was an account prior to the
incorporation ofAchieve Africa CIO, the
Trustees have agreed to close the previous
account. It meant we would have only one
business account.
Para 1.20
In December, we implored the charitable
services of Rosita Unique Foundation, a
local care agency, who usually carry out
local activity for us at the grassroots level,
to organise Christmas party for children in
Umunumo who would have had no
Christmas celebration but this. It was
carried out with the voluntary support of
Sister Chukwudire Nwaigwe, a local nun
and others. Their implementation report
was subsequently received and approved.
We provided financial support to St
Joseph's Orphanage, Fegge, Onitsha. This .
is an annual support.
With a fully developed and functional
website of Achieve Africa, we agreed that
some persons should manage it and ensure
that regular updates are guaranteed.

policy for holding reserves

Para 1.21
The financial position of the charity was
satisfactory.
Para 1.22
It is a bit regrettable that due to the COVID
and the after effects, we have not been able
to utilise the funds as much as we ought to
have done. However, reserves will be held
for the purposes of ensuring the liquidity of
the charity and to fund future activities in
support of its purpose.

The charity's principal
The charity intended to raise funds by
sources of funds (including
holding events, receiving donations
any fundraising)
including via its website. As life returns to
normal after the pandemic, such vision
would still be upheld.
We had some plan to develop our activities
commensurate with building our charity
programme and support infrastructure.
Para 1.47
1. We recognised the need to maintain
a sufficient number of trustees,
especially, in view of two trustees,
Peter Burrows and Ellen
Olutunmogun, whose tenure would
end in June 2022; and to build the
charity team including through
associate members.
. 2. It was decided that we would employ
a representative who would be on
ground for us in Nigeria. We couldn't
possibly carry out vital projects from
a distance without someone
representing us.
