The trustees present their report atml accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025.
Obje¢tives and actlvities
Since 2016 , the Reg¢￿'S Park Music Festival h&8 bought music to the pak from mi&June to
mid.September, offering ne8rty 50 ftee weekend concerts on both the nuin bandstand and a
"rustic sheltcrf. on the Broad WalL Since 2023. a series of ticketed events has also been
arranged. The festival seeks to encourdge amateur and semi-professional M￿SIcianS playing
mostly in local bands but also ban&8 from far away such &8 York and Bournemouth. . There is
always a pai1i¢ular focus on young musicians beginn1￿ their musical careets. who are paid
Musicians Union ra￿ for their perfornwices. The festival also aims to bring Ihe local
community, and visitors, into the natur¢ and tranquillity of the park with thc Oppor￿nIty to
enjoy free music with family and friends with completely unbindercd acce&8, physical and
financial. The ticketed sales allows the festival to offer music in the park to those who
apprecia* other typ￿ of m￿lC than that presented on the bandstands. and to enjoy th¢ park
outside of weekend da￿lme houT5. The ticketed events include eV￿ts for children and youth
and an opportunity to ellwloy scores of Sts￿ents and recent graduates of the best music
coll¢8es ID London (the Royal Academy of Music being key as th¢ir location is on the edge of
the park).
Struetsr& governance *Dd manAgenent
The four volunteer trustees meet regularly, usually once a month, in person. by &)om or in
hybrid meetings. They are joined by five additional volunteer team members about five times
a y¢arwho advise the truste¢S OD different aspects of the festivaL especially tbe tick¢ted events.
Mark Elliott is the chair of the charity and Nancy JaDin is treasurer. As various management
t&sks arise the tn￿teeS allocate them to the member with the expertise andlor time to dedi¢at¢
to the issue. The trustees have frquent contact througb a WbatsApp group in addition to
meetings. TTUStees are recruited anN)ng voluoteer5 heipiog to nm p￿f0￿￿￿o¢¢s and audience
goers who wish to support the festival.
Aehlevements and perf0rD￿nCe
tn the April 1. 2024-March 31, 2025. fiscal year the music festival offered perfornwices from
22 JuDe until 22 September 2024. with tsvo free concerts on the HoJm¢ Green bandsts￿ ev¢ry
Sunday and bank holiday Monday, and one fTec concat (usually young jazz musicians) on the
Broad Walk bandstand. On July 20 1982 the bandstand w&$ the scene of an IRA terrorist attack
wbich rG£uited ID the death of seven rnilitary bandsmen. Every year. wotking witb the Royal
Green jackets veterans, the music f&stival aTTanges a memorial service with bugler4 the
Waterloo Arnjy band and the CeDtral Band of the Royal ￿ltish Legion. The Mayots of
Westmtnster and Camden att¢nd and lay wreaths &s well as rnany senior military personnel.
Seven Ticketed events took place in the St Jobn's Lodge Gard￿ the "Sec￿1 Garden" from
July 31>August 4. These ticketed events included oper4 baroque rn￿￿1¢. musical theatre,
classical music, a spccially Commissioned work for Children (The Pied Piper and the Secret
Garden) and a perfornwice of Hamlet. Reviews were unifonnly excellent-"absolutely five

been to and I've been to A LOT.". (Written reviews submitted by concert goers via Audience
Club)-
Total attenda￿e at ihe free concerts is estimated at 21,000 (we use a clicker svstem to count at
the beginning, middlc and ¢nd of the concerts as some people come and go). Attendance at thc
ticketed evenls totalled 1174. th'er 1200 musi¢i8ns were employed.
Bringing together musicians and a wide mix of public to enjoy the healing power of music and
nature right in the centre of London is of great benefit for the community. Momver: it ¢an
have lasting impact by allowing musicians to grow through perfonnances before large crowds
and to help them make a living from their tslent and education. It can encourage locals to
discover the beauty of the park that 15 free to them and offers many opportunities for enriching
experiences, not onl} through the music festival.
Financial re%'iew
Receipts for the year totallcd £94.381 (20?4: £38.238) and payments totalled £96,114 (20?4:
£35.7?0). Receipts from sponsor5: includingy one local authority grant of £3000: totslled
£62,150 which is 660/0 of the total, ticket sales of £24,256 ￿'¢re 260/0, and the £5,616 total
donations made at the free bandstand concerts 60/0. The bulk of payments, £68.420. or 770/
an)se from the ticketed Secret Garden Series cosls. Ivith £14,8?5 or 160/0 paid to perfomier5 at
the frte bandstand conccrt5 being the second highest expense. The remaining 130/0 of costs
related to advertising. insurance. website, tern7inal rental for donations and other sm311
administrative costs. The deficii of £1.833 was ¢oN'e￿d b> carried over surpluses of previous
yea￿. and the fiscal vear ended on March il: 2025. Il'ith £9,630 (2024., £11.567) balance in
the one bank ae¢ount held b!, the charity.
