Para 1.20 | The Apostolate published its most beautiful Planner yet for 2024 and this year sold directly to the USA. Over 1000 women were helped to plan a fuller and more engaging liturgical year together with their family. The group in Catford has continued providing support and formation for Mothers and children in the local area – we engaged in a number of sessions of Scripture study and an exploration of the dignity of Women. The group has outgrown the current venue and the search for a suitable place for the activities of the apostolate is under way. A November evening by Joanna Bogle was organized on the subject of Feasts and Seasons and was well attended and received. The highlight of the year was the third Catholic Mothers Conference which took place on Sat and Sunday 11-12thMay at the Cabrini Centre in Honor Oak with 100 mothers in attendance on Saturday for a day of formation centred on questions about women and image. A creche was provided and a marketplace for Catholic Apostolates was also available. On Sunday we hosted a day of formation and fun for families - with talks for Mothers, Fathers, teens and children attended by over 250 people and an outdoor rosary followed by a barbecue. Feedback was excellent and we reached out to numerous new families who have since attended events The Catholic Mothers website continued to function well, importing and selling over 500 products to help pass on the Faith within families. We also attended two Christmas fairs to sell items from the Catholic Mothers shop. 2 new local chapters of the Catholic Mothers Apostolate were begun in Bath and Surbiton. |
